WTF?! There is no excuse he also had their child in the car. If he’s an addict then he needs to get some help for his addiction. Constance seems like she can afford it.
According to Constance:
They had been at a kids birthday party (at a pub?) and then went and saw her friend Tash (who had a terminal illness).
After leaving Tash’s, Constance was driving.
Raja was screaming in the backseat.
She was “exhausted” (most likely drunk out of her mind).
Denim asked her if she wanted him to drive.
“Denim has been driving since he is 4” (first justification).
So Denim is now driving.
They come up to a booze bus.
In the line, Raja undoes his seatbelt, climbs over and sits in Constances lap.
She says that this is the reason that the cops pulled them over.
He tested positive for drugs.
She says it his dexamphetamine meds.
She calls her lawyer the next day.
Lawyer tells her that Denim had meth in his system and he is looking at a jail term.
Constance continues to defend him and justify his actions and so on and so on.
She also mentions that Denim doesn’t have a license.
Seperate to this - he was deemed unsafe to drive by the hospital due to his brain injury.
So irrespective that he doesn’t have a license, he has a brain injury that makes it unsafe for him to drive.
She allowed her child to be in a car with an unlicensed meth user that has a brain injury that deems unsafe to drive.
She put his life, her life and the lives of all of the other cars on the road, at risk.
And yet somehow, to her, this is all completely justifiable.
Unreal.
