I’ve been lurking on this thread for ages - really appreciate people’s contributions since anything that scrutinises the lockdowns, vaccine rollout or Covid ID cards is so stigmatised elsewhere!

I feel certain that there will be more lockdowns, more restrictions, more blaming the general public if infections rise, more employers making it difficult for staff if they refuse the vaccine etc - especially in health and social care. But at the same time, I don’t think people will stand for much more - hence the summer gap for people to do some normal things before another lockdown comes in.

I noticed the Green Party and Lib Dem leaders did quite a good job of criticising the idea of “Covid passports” on C4 News the other day - at least they explained that it’s an ID card by another name!

If I don't agree with twice weekly lateral flow tests for all I'm a murderer, I've been spending too much time with the "tin foil hat brigade" I'm stupid, irresponsible etc etc yet they've admitted the prefer not to research stuff and to remain ignorant.
But they both said they would do whatever was asked to get us all back to normality. You can imagine the reaction when I said I don't think we will get back to normality.
I'm not saying everyone has to agree with my opinions, I just don't think we should accept what the government are saying as gospel. I dont see the harm in questioning things.

It's like being in an abusive relationship, except the abusive relationship is with our government not a partner. My brother was in an abusive marriage and when things got really bad he took it out on the people closest to him, us. He couldn't even comprehend that the problem was the marriage so instead we were target no1. There is so many similarities with Covid. People are scared and it's easier to target the people questioning things rather than the govt. To admit that the govt may be lying is too frightening for them so this is their coping mechanism.

I should say that with MMT I'm pretty sure they can keep this going forever. But it's nice to know that raging inflation is set to steal our life savings while we waste our lives away under house arrest. But at least we protected the NHS guys

Just to add, my husband works very close to Buckingham Palace and on Thursday he said that there were helicopters arriving and leaving all day. He said its common to see them, but not as frequently as that.
After hearing the news yesterday he wonders if maybe family were flying in and then driving to Windsor to visit PP knowing he didn't have long left

Personally, I do not agree with mandatory vaccines, I also think it’s wrong to vaccinate children, because covid does not affect them!! I’ve heard people saying that unvaccinated children are “Granny Killers” which is an utterly disgusting thing to say to kids ( who are already suffering increased anxiety and mental health issues )


I don’t agree with ID passports in any capacity whatsoever, I have never used them, and if a shop worker insisted that without one, then I wouldn’t be served, I would take my money and shop elsewhere....
Also, if people are wearing masks in shops, why wouldn’t her phone ID be enough? Why was her idea that her boyfriend would FaceTime her ID dismissed? It’s bad enough going shopping at the moment, you have to wear a mask and be in and out as quickly as possible!!

Imagine popping into Tesco’s for a few tins of baked beans, and being asked to show your “Papers”...
Why are people ok with this??!!! Everything about bloody vaccines passports is just plain ridiculous and wrong imo

I wasn't asking for her ID to see if she'd been vaccinated, I was asking for her ID as she was buying alcohol and looked under 25...

Oh I agree. If you look at the blind (pretty obvious as to who it is) it says that the “family” knew a month ago that he didn’t have long left, so they decided to “invite” family members to come and say goodbye to him...
It may be that Charles & Anne decided to be interviewed about him, hence the black clothes, or it was recorded during the jubilee celebrations a few years ago....I hope Harry comes back for the funeral and mends some bridges...

Those clips were most likely filmed during the war it wouldn't have been out of place to do it at that time .

How in earth did we British get to such a situation where we are actually querying someones id and im not referring to age here. What an absolute tit country this has become. We are being forced into id's. Also we are mourning for one man when over hundred thousand have lost their lives mostly in isolation with hands being held by strangers as they die. I honestly despair.

I don't think we'll be back to the " old normal" anytime soon and those stupid LFT tests won't last you can't base your life around a test ,especially one that's not fit for purpose didn't they have to remove over 8000 cases from the gov data from a few days ago because the LFT gave a false pos that should tell them how rubbish this new system will be.

Maybe it's something the royals do? I don't think they show much emotion in public so pre- recorded grief may be a thing for them especially if PP got a terminal diagnosis .

Poor Peter Sissons it's something i've never noticed before did they do the same when the queen mother died ? I've read the Queen's tribute is to be broadcast soon but no time/date released yet .

Yes, They always have the tributes prepared years before and just add to them any time something else interesting is done.

oh for sure, they probably have plans and general announcements for all immediate family members put in place, just in case but there must have been an editor working overtime once covid hit!
