Someone kindly replied and said they didn’t think NZ was a success story because they had harsh border controls abs had had very strict lockdowns… but my family in NZ have total freedom except for having to do hotel quarantine if they leave the country and come back. Other than that they can do exactly as they please the same as we were all doing in 2019. Yes their lockdown was brutal but it only lasted about 2 weeks as a recall. No one is being pressured to take the vaccine until they’re ready because it’s not needed to break the chain of transmission etc.
A lot of what I see on here (and some of it I completely agree with as I said last time) talks about unnecessary levels of control and the government/SAGE imposing measures on us to make us comply and be pliant to enact big plans worldwide or control us permanently. But in parts of the world life is totally normal and has been almost the whole time. I am just wondering how those countries that are living normal life fit into your CTs because I can’t reconcile it personally - it feels like me to proof that the uk is just tit at governing.
No one really knows what's going on. We're all here trying to figure it out. Some countries have done things differently to ours but like I said New Zealand is extremely isolated and no one is allowed to travel or leave. That to me does not scream success. To me freedom is being allowed to leave the country. Plus they're massively pushing the jab over there which again is sinister. She's just approved it for 12-15 year olds so take that as you will! I do think it depends heavily on the governments and how corrupt they are to be honest. Our govt is extremely corrupt as we've seen so there is massive incentives to keep this going as long as possible. That's one thing that isn't a conspiracy theory.
Funnily enough this just cropped up on my Twitter about NZ.
There are air travel corridors between Australia and the Cook Islands atm so we can go to diff countries for holidays but tbf who would want to leave a country like that - it’s a perfect place to be isolated. I can go up to the very north and have holidays in the vineyards , I can go down to the south and have skiing holidays . It is such a beautiful and amazing country to have holidays and travel and see
But it's not just about holidays is it. many have family living elsewhere same as us here who want to travel to see family in other countries.
You are happy because you have only just arrived there, what happens if someone here that you love is taken very ill and you can't get back to see them, or are there allowances for things like that?
The problem about New Zealand is you have to live in New Zealand. We spent years outside of Napier and I have never met a more insular, bigoted population. It was awful, and I have lived in communist countries and those under real dictatorships and martial rule! Jacinda Arden is a horrible woman. They might have minimal covid but they have a whole shed load of other issues and I know which I would prefer.
I've just heard in the background that they're discussing 16/17yrs olds having the jab without parental consent.
Honestly, I'm split on this because at that age they can go to the doctors and get the pill and other meds without consent and with complete confidence - which they should be allowed to do.
However, all other meds are discussed at length with all risks disclosed and that's just not happening with the vaccines.
This can also come with some quite serious side effects, so parents need to know why their child might have chest pain or a severe headache, or be losing clots. Girls need to be spoken to about their menstrual cycle and to be extra careful with their contraception - just incase..
If you have a child come from a house that is completely anti jab then that child could be scared in telling their parents the warning signs for fear of getting in serious trouble and warning signs could be missed.
Surely what should be being discussed is that kids of that age can consent, but to advise parents to encourage them to let their kids know they've had it so they can watch them and leave their judgements aside
I had to have that conversation with my nearly 15yr old After reading his letter about the Gillick test.
Ive told him I don't want him having the jab, and what school might do. I've said to him that if he gets pressure then to tell them he wants 24hrs to think about it and to come home and tell me. Then I said that if it gets to the point that he has no choice but to agree to then tell me he had the jab so I can help look after him and watch for side effects.
I've reassured him that I won't be cross with him, but cross with the school. I'm fortunate enough to have an open dialogue with my kids, but I worry for the children that don't.
While doing this test, do they consider children from abusive homes, or children that have MH problems - both of which the school might not know about, or know the full extent of? Its actually terrifying!
So does this also mean they cannot insist passengers are vaccinated?

You sound like a very level headed reasonable mum! I can't imagine how difficult it is for you with teenagers. My children are a lot younger so if/when they come for them I will be making my voice very heard! I will even pull them out of school if it becomes compulsory.
Yes with regards to children in abusive/disadvantaged homes then it's awful to think about! That was my argument about lockdown to begin with. No one seemed to give any thought to vulnerable children in disadvantaged homes and what they must have been going through locked up in their homes all day.
They have the same exemption list as the UK
