That's a myth and victim blaming people who have been raped. They aren't a monolithic block who all react the same. Soms choose to block it out and just carry on never reporting it , some get angry, some cry . The US is a much more litigious society than the UK.

Not everyone thinks the bloody same. I , drove home , did my shopping and never told a soul what happened to me. I didn't cry or act much differently. Speaking from experience, I was an unhappy child and looking back at old photos I could see it in my eyes and I remember the overwhelming confusion and sadness even around other kids. I still have flashbacks off being called in to a friend's birthday on the road at like 6/7 and running into my house as I felt so different and undeserving to be in that happy environment.

I was the oldest and took all the burden of the weight, stress and responsibility for my siblings when my parents were having alcohol fuelled fight. Only now as someone in their 30s I'm learning to come to terms with it that none of it was my fault. The memories and flash backs are strong.

He always looks sad and I'm sure he has seen some things. I really empathize with any child going through what I went though!!

I have serious lack of tolerance for people that get drunk on front of their children. By all means have a drink, just not to excess!
