So disgusting to target a grave.

Farming alone relies heavily on oil for machinery, transportation, and the production of fertilizers.

How exactly do they expect to feed 68 million people?

You would think they would have realised they are making literally no impact on fighting climate change with the blocking of roads and the desecration of graves. We should stop reporting on them. Starve them of the oxygen they so desire.

I find it weird that there's so many older people captured by this movement. You expect younger people to be more idealistic but these women should know better by now.

They will say that they're doing it for their grandkids. As they're also mostly retired there would be no worry about the consequences of something coming up on a DBS search.

Their demands are by 2030.

From one JSO protestor:

I've started to view these people as fascists, trying to impose their will on people through violent means, not through democracy. It's only a matter of time before these pensioners start killing people.

Throw all of them in jail.

A lot of them seem to be retired teachers, doctors and whatnot so I think there is a bit of boredom and wanting to carry on doing something that makes an impact but without the paperwork. But I genuinely think there is a lot of class differences driving it - protestors come across as really disliking the working class and target us as a matter of course.

Going back a little: a relative was a policeman on the Greenham Common Protests - it was all older / retired bored middle and upper class women on an adventure holiday…none of the press ever seemed to report on the simple fact that they were always trying to breach an American base. The police were simply trying to keep the women from being happily machine gunned down by US troops who made it clear that they would regard any protestor gaining entry to their site as a hostile (height of Cold War and stuff to do with the base being American soil) - reminds me about how the police are desperately trying to protect environmental protestors from infuriated members of the public today.

Going back even further, a lot of balls equating Just Stop Oil with the Suffragettes being thrown around too. Historically, those poshos specifically didn’t want the vote for working class women (again, a lot of these protestors really don’t like us). And their antics actually put back the rights of women for a time - it was the actual Suffragists who got us the vote and the first female MP was Lady Astor, who was not a suffragette.

Positive stuff is happening (wind farms, energy going carbon neutral, reduction of plastics, house insulation etc) but it is happening in spite of some bored posh folk seeking relevance, not because of them.

At least that’s what I tell myself when I get plipped in the face with the new style recyclable plastic caps on drinking bottles.

I think they just want to feel they have a "purpose" and have been chosen to carry out this planet-saving mission. It's more "glamorous" than volunteering at a charity shop or watching repeats of Heartbeat and Midsomer Murders on ITV3..

They do seem to fit a particular pattern. Where are the other race groups in this?

An Asian or Nigerian mother would not put up with their child doing this.

Limiting oil supply without reducing demand would drive energy prices higher, disproportionately affecting the most vulnerable lower income households. It's laughable to think we actually have an adequate renewable energy infrastructure that could replace oil. Will they then protest when we our hospitals have blackouts and fuel shortages?

The weak-ass manager should have immediately sent the staff to fetch 8 full cages of soft drinks from the warehouse and just surrounded these numpties with a wall of cages across the aisle to firstly prevent their stupid protest from being seen (thus entirely nullifying it) and secondly wall them in for easy one-by-one processing of their life time all-stores bans. Ideally pen them in for a number of hours first and don't let them out to use the toilets.

He was utterly pathetic and should have been on the side of the customers who wanted to shop. Those people who were being prevented from shopping should take their custom elsewhere and write to head office complaining about the weak-ass guy in the store.

Why didn't the security guard remove them? How are they allowed to inconvenience people like this? Imagine having the nerve as a young man to try and stop an oap from getting her shopping. wick.

All those protesters are doing is upsetting the Joe Bloggs on the street just trying to make a living and buy food to fuel themselves for the week. A lot of vegan convenience food is ultra processed carcinogenic laden synthetic muck transported around the world for processing. These protesters are holier than thou without thinking of the environmental impact of fake meats and milks being grown, transported and processed in various parts of the world before they reach the supermarket. That manager was weak and I knew he was weak as he slowly sauntered up to them.

At the end of the day, diet is a personal choice and noone should be blocking aisles to make a point. Instead they should lobby through proper channels like their MP.

Surprised they only had one person on stage to push them off in a situation like this.
