When I was a teenager, we were talking about CR, I was laughing saying he was so cringe. Other teenage boy there said that he lived close to his house, and all the young boys in the area were told to keep well away. I think he's used the pretence of being in the closet cos of religion to hide what he really is.

Cliff has always reminded me of Michael Jackson in the Thriller video when he has the zombie make up on. I don't know why but I think it might be the soulless dead eyes.

There was an article recently about his past romances, and something that illustrates how cold he was, was that, as he tells it, when he found out from his manager that he could lose up to a third of his fans if he married his girlfriend at the time, Jackie Irving, in the 60s, he promptly decided that wouldn't be acceptable, and dumped her. Career (and himself) first, always.
---
Also how must Alison Hammond have felt sitting there listening to that?
I was glad she made that remark to him afterwards "Is that why you don't want me round your house then??!!". He was so insensitive and incapable of reading the room.
---
He was wheeled out onto the news last week with Paul Gambo to argue for anonymity after arrest.

Sorry Cliff but the old-school (near retirement) coppers I worked with 20 years ago we’re telling me back then what an absolute n once you were. I think that ship has well and truly sailed.
See this is the thing. I have read numerous rumours that there were very thick police files on him going back many years, and there is also the infamous story about compromising pics being found at a railway station in 1970 and the pics being quickly "disappeared". Then there's the "Harriet" story, which if true, does make me feel sorry for him. The story goes that, when he was still a young lad, he turned up at a hospital in great distress, having been sexually assaulted, and he was dressed as a young woman and called himself Harriet. There are rumours of his break into showbiz being a result of sexual favours etc. Obviously not all rumours are necessarily true, but there just seems to be too much out there for there to be nothing to it. If he was abused and went on to be an abuser himself, sadly it isn't surprising, although it's not ok either obviously, it's still terrible. I guess we shall see when he passes away. There'll be an initial period of tributes like there was with Savile, and then the stories will start to trickle out.

I am not quite sure what to make of some of these posts. I am half expecting to read that Biggins is Putin’s right hand man.

I am not a believer of condemning people by the no smoke without fire (although sometimes it is so apparent), but in this case there really is so much smoke there has to be fire

It was a very serious stern work colleague of mine who stated Cliff was involved in closed proceedings about Kincora. Not a person to gossip so I will always remember it. I have always hoped he was maybe just visiting in a voluntary capacity maybe at Christmas to sing carols (I know I know😔) . You just don't want to believe horrible things. But he was definitely there and zero was ever reported.

My mum is a committed Christian, and a Cliff fan :ROFLMAO: I'd bet my last penny she has no clue about the outrageous internet rumours, though her generation are less exposed to scurrilous online gossip than younger ones.

Even Popbitch routinely describe CR as "Kitty", and I know David Icke's acolytes encourage rumours about Elm Guest House, etc.

I think Cliff is a product of his time - he was an adult and became famous when homosexuality was a crime - and a sizeable chunk of his fanbase are from those days. I wonder if he'll eventually come out the closet like Barry Manilow (as far as I know his coming out hasn't done much damage). Same goes for dear old Dolly Parton. Yet there's part of me that feels private and professional life should be separate if an indvidual so wishes - because who you share a bed with doesn't and shouldn't affect how you're perceived at work.

A lot of conspiracy theories don't hold up when you scratch the surface and investigate further - the people shouting loudest on social media want followers, infamy and people to hang their egos on, and to spread misinformation, so I don't know what to think.

Let's not forget the Carl Beech fiasco.

There's even a Wiki page alleging the Elm Guest House stories are fake - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elm_Guest_House_hoax

But I do agree that if there is anything dodgy on old Cliff, it'll all come out when he pops his clogs. Personally, I find him as cringey and insincere as his pal Daniel O'Donnell.

The big fuss about the BBC filming the raid was just a smoke screen to hide the fact of what he did. People think that he is innocent because he won the BBC court case about the illegal filming of the raid not realising that this is nothing to do with the fact that he is a dodgy.

What is Kincora and who is Kitty?

This 💯 this was a piece of theatre and entirely deliberate.

A good overview of the JD and CR link

There was a whole scene dedicated to rockstars sleeping with underage girls at the time and nobody batted an eyelid. Google baby groupies and Lori Maddox - it's al so fucking sad but people didn't "know" better I guess. Saying all that if I was 15/16 and my rock idol showed me interest I'd probably jump on it. Now I see it for what it is
Of course the 15/16 year olds being given attention and showered with gifts and taken to flash clubs by rock stars would jump at the chance. But they are essentially children who think they are adults. The actual adults who took advantage of their naivety are at fault because they must have known that 15 is far too young to know what is appropriate or not. Not only the rock stars but a lot of them were essentially pimped out by their mothers who were living out their own fantasies through their daughters.

Oh Daniel O'Donnell, that's another I would like to know about.....
There were awful rumours about him and Romanian orphanages at one time, but I’ve not heard them for years. When he did Strictly he came across as funny and self deprecating and it changed my view of him. Still think his music his shit aimed at grannies though.

It's to cover up the misdeeds of people in very high places ie the "establishment", in this case, I believe many MPs who at the time, were high up in the Labour party and or the Scottish Labour Party. The likes of Gordon Brown, who's a widely reported paedophile, George Robertson (high ranking Labour and ex NATO Secretary General) was the signatory on Hamilton's gun license application, and God knows how many others. It was reported that Brown's credit card appeared on the same list as Pete Townshend of The Who when the plod did their huge online child porn sting years ago. I think Alan Milburn's appeared on it to. He was required to resign from the Labour government "to spend more time with his family".
Theres a conspiracy theory that the Dunblane massacres had something to do with high ranking paedophiles including prominent member of the labour party at the time (GB)
