It's no secret they have had to get other brewing companies around the UK involved to help meet production demands of all the various products in the range.Don't know why he even needs to advertise Hawkstone. It seems to be bloody everywhere now, I don't know whether their salesman specifically targetted Cambridgeshire but it's on tap in a couple of my local pubs, and has been for a couple of weeks, so not just one precious trial keg. If the same pattern of wide availability is repeated across the country, it can't possibly be a little husband and wife brewery making it for him, there has to be one of the big boys quietly doing the brewing and distribution for him.
Doesn't matter if it is good or bad, the number of people saying "oh they've got the Clarkson lager, I must try it", even if they only try one pint, his profit must be astronomical from it.
(Yes I did fall for it and had a pint, nothing special, went straight back to Peach Jubel for the rest of the night)
And it is popping up in more and more supermarkets as well.
It's grown from small local company to big national brewer, but is very popular.
