I dont send Christmas cards as I hate them. I honestly think there is nothing worse than Christmas cards hanging from string in people's living rooms or stuck to doors. I throw them away once I've opened and read them. I tell everyone not to bother sending us any, but they still do....
Not into them but still get them give them to stepdaughter to cut up to make art keeps her entertained

I’ve got quite chunky legs, after trying all year to find a pair of wellies that fit, (I got 4 pairs to try for my birthday but all had to go back), I said I was giving up and not to worry about it.

I got a pair or supermarket wellies for Xmas... they don’t fit 🤦🏻‍♀️
Have you tried Vans wellies? These are the only ones that fit round my calves.

What do you get a married on family member in his late 60's that you immensely dislike. I don't want to spend too much but still want it to look like I was thoughtful

Anyone else feel immense pressure to make up for what their siblings don’t get their mum? My brothers buy nothing so I’m left feeling like I need to do it all. She’s also 60 on Jan 2nd and my list so far is a Fitbit,
Chanel perfume and a hairdryer if they both bought something it would be helpful I’m dreading it
This!! My sibling brought my mum socks one year, okay they weren't cheap socks but literally all she had from him and his partner was socks. So now I tend to go over board with gifts to make up for his 🙈

I bought my MIL a lovely hamper filled with chocolates, champagne, biscuits etc and a hair dryer that she was hinting for , all in all cost about £100 and she got me a handcream from home bargs that would have cost her about 99p 🤣
Omg. What a slap in the face.. Wouldn't u just love swap gifts nd keep what u bought for urself. And sorry but, how did she even wrap or package up the handcream as a gift? I'm genuinely curious! I'd feel like an idiot wrapping a cheap handcream up and then letting someone unwrap it as if it's something they'd be happy with.

My mother in law once said to me after xmas "I bought you *insert really lovely xmas gift* but I gave it to your sister in law" then laughed.

Actually really hurt my feelings
Oh no. That's awful. Had she given you anything?

My MIL got my 10 month old son a toy for 4+ ?? An outfit for 24-36 months and pjs for 18-24 😂 not one thing for even close. She said 'he'll be in them in no time' weirdo
If my step-son had any younger cousins I’d think we have the same MIL! We have told her gently (okay mostly my husband has) and the size thing finally fell into place, but she has some very funny ideas and it’s not worth the row to keep arguing.

Sorry should have explained, the mother in law sent this card to her son and daughter in law. Rather than explain to them there would be no presents this year she just stated everything she paid for this year because they lost their jobs and she offered to help them.
oh that makes sense!

I got a fake silk shoe bag off a family friend this year. MIL got the same as me so I don’t feel too bad about it. She has tiny feet and she couldn’t get her shoes into it so my size 8 flippers stand no chance 😂

She never usually bothers so I don’t know why she did this year. She bought my two year old a pack of rubbers abs he had an almighty tantrum when we took them off him because of tiny parts!

Why do people assume people want alcohol in general just because I’m in my 20s? We’ve got 2 bottles of vodka in the cupboard that we’ve never touched
If you bake, buy some vanilla beans and make your own essence. It's way better than anything you buy off the shelf.

I'm in my 30s and still say 'thank you' after opening a gift on Christmas. When I was younger my Aunt would always send me a birthday card and a check for my birthday. One year my mom reminded me to write out a thank you card but I forgot to do it. I do remember talking to my Aunt on the phone at some point and thanking her then. On my next birthday I opened the card and it was only a birthday card no check. My mom looked right at me and told me she was so embarrassed when she spoke to her sister last year and found out that I cashed the check but did not send a thank you card. My mom told her sister to never send me another check for my birthday because I didn't deserve her generosity.
Aww that's well tight, bless you
