We’re hosting for NYE which feels like something to look forward to, but for once I’m managing to relax in the time in between. I’m really enjoying it this year!

I came across this video clip on my YouTube feed this morning. What great parents to go to this effort for the little lad. He was joyous.

Enjoying these relaxing few days in between Christmas and New Year after hosting 9 people for Christmas Day dinner and going to an array of family gatherings. Yesterday got to do a full pyjama day and chill out was heaven!!

Tomorrow thank god. But she is back again on Saturday, staying the night and then leaving for good on Sunday. Hooray!!!! But even that has frustrated me - my partner is in the military and he is away the beginning of Jan - June / July time. This coming weekend is our last weekend together before he leaves (which she knows about) and she has taken it upon herself to invite herself back to stay 😂. My partner asked if she would at least baby sit for a couple of hours so we could go out for a date / meal childfree. Her answer was no because she’s not comfortable around the children, doesn’t know what to do, and that the 2 year old doesn’t know her very well. If I don’t laugh, I’ll cry!!!! Sorry to moan, I’m usually the happiest, bubbliest and positive person going but I feel like a broken woman today!!! Sending big huge hugs to anyone else that has had to deal with not very nice family members this Christmas 🤗 X
Can't you just not answer the door to her I never understand spending time with people you don't like. It's a good time of the year don't let anyone ruin it tell your kids to ignore her she's a sad miserable old lady and your child is a lovely person

I wish it were that simple. She lives 6 hrs away so have no choice but to let her in when she arrives, as it’s always a planned trip as she’s unable to turn up unannounced due to distance. So we can’t just pretend we aren’t in! I wish my partner had a bigger set of balls sometimes but hey ho. At least I won’t have to pretend to like her and enjoy her company for another good few months once this visit is done and dusted 😂 X

Just because she's a witch to you doesn't mean you have to open the door your house I wouldn't care if she had had an 8 hour journey be a bit h to me or the kids and you are out. Either that or you and your child just spent the entire time upstairs or out go out no one deserves that your child definitely doesn't

Been out shopping today. Was expecting loads of reduced items but no, apart from The Range, it feels like Christmas has never been.
I noticed in Home Bargains a few tall, mesh trolleys full of baubles, wreaths and picks with that cling film stuff round them, so you can't get into them.
They're either going into storage or to an outlet to sell off. 🤔

Talking of those skinny satin/silk scrunchies upthread - I found some in Home Bargains today for £1.99, and my hair seems to like them!
They come in a screwtop see through container which I like.
They're not as skinny as the one I had before, but at least I've got something my hair likes whilst I peruse the silk ones.
I can get rid of all my normal size scrunchies now, which my hair definitely hates (ow!)

That’s what shops like The Range all do now. B&M and Home Bargains, they bring stuff out early and sell it out. That’s why I always buy stuff I like whenever I see it. It makes sense for them to do it. Places don’t need to reduce stock and then it’s empty for the next seasonal range.

I got a Christmas bouquet and a cabbage for free in Aldi today! They obviously had too much stock. The foodie middle aisle bit was sadly no longer Christmas but Veganuary themed ☹

I noticed that at tesco too. 3 days before Christmas and the Christmas section was tiny, only 1 box of wrapping paper left

Here on the other side of the globe it appears Boxing Day was a little crazy! I have managed to get some things especially for Elf on The Shelf! $7 for a pizza car and carrier for him! Little one fell in love with him this year so I took advantage to make the next elf season special and easier with a kit of set ups. I did have a giggle that Kit Kat Santa has been moved out for a Kit Kat Bunny haha.

I noticed the same, there’s barely any Christmas bits leftover like there used to be. All of the nicest things sell out before Christmas Day too.

A couple years ago I’d always get wrapping paper, decorations, candles, etc in the sales.

I guess it’s a good thing as they’re not overstocking stuff, but it means less bargains for us! 😅

Definitely if you see stuff you like in August and September when they first come out, buy it, because they don’t restock.

Yes I was in Morrisons yesterday and they were wheeling Easter stuff out left right and centre. All the Valentines cards were out too.

I noticed they'd moved the Christmas chocolates to the Valentine's section so no need to reduce them. 😥

I stopped in the B&M near my Mum’s on Saturday after dropping her home and they had brilliant sales stock. I got a few bits but absolutely wanted more, but I felt I was in a bit of a rush to drive back to my husband and baby as I’d been away for ages. We had one last adult (boring!) Christmas tree this year as our son was too young to pay it any attention. All the baubles are glass. We need to pack these away for a bit and get plastic ones and bring some colour and interest into the tree decoration, and B&M had this in abundance for cheap. I really regret not getting more and I’m going to struggle to get the time to go back before it’s all gone. My husband has zero interest, haha. I don’t blame him. It’s a first world problem, obviously!
