I just posted in the Waitrose thread, but for anyone interested, Waitrose mince pies are 1/3 off. They do have a good selection of mince pies. The cranberry & orange crumble ones are my faves. Heat them up in the oven and paired with some ice cream 👌
Thank you @Tatooine_legend1 l am due a trip there, will go and get 2 boxes of the brown butter ones and put them out of harms way in the freezer 🤣

Do you ever find that mince pies taste worse after being frozen? I've never frozen mince pies. I worry it will change the flavour.
No l don't find they change in taste at all tbh .
But we are all different and have more sensitive taste buds than other l am sure . I take them out of the cardboard and put them in a tupperware box to freeze,so l wonder if that is what saves their taste 🤔

Fair enough. I may give it a try with some cheaper ones first, just in case, ha. Waitrose ones are my go to mince pies normally, I find them really nice. Greggs do nice ones too, though. I think my overall fave type of mince pies are puff pastry, though. Mmm, now I'm getting hungry.

The best John Lewis Christmas ad will always be the animals on the trampoline for me ❤

Same here! The only non Christmas one I personally think is allowed is a George Michael one. He is the King of Christmas to me ❤. God rest his soul!!!! X
There was a cool Grace Jones one last year but the £30 tag was ridiculous!
I love how every Xmas people post George’s quiet acts of kindness. He was the best egg.

I have just had a look at the M&S beauty advent for this year. Last time I purchased it was £30-ish with two purchases but now it is £60 (discounted from their random 'value' of £330). When did that happen? I haven't had one for a couple of years so I am shocked at the price hike as it is easy to tack onto a couple of purchases and it seemed good value but now, not so much.

The Coca Cola advert is still iconic for me. As soon as it starts and you hear "holidays are coming, holidays are coming, holidays are coming" I get slight chills.

It's also tosh. I looked at it, as my mum's got the credit card, and it just didn't work out worthwhile.

Oh no I can't stand that one! The tune gets in your head and won't go away. I must be a miserable git because I don't like most Xmas adverts.

There are a lot of the brands that they push such as Percy and Reed, which is like overpriced tat from a silo somewhere in China and tiny tiny sample sizes.

I think retailers are taking the p and seeing how high they can go before people stop shopping 🥴 we all expect things to increase a bit but the size of the hikes cannot be reflective of their increased costs.

There was a report a couple of weeks ago where a good number of luxury brands have seen a downturn in sales/ shares. They’ve only themselves to blame either form boycotts, cheeky price hikes especially after reports of diminished quality/ production.

It’ll be interesting coming close to Christmas or after if high street retailers report drops in sales.
