Vouchers aren’t really a thing there as everything is cashless/paperless. They have a banking app where you can allocate credit/tokens for certain retailers but it isn’t really something you can ‘gift’ in a situation like this.

You are allowed to buy an ‘experience’ but obviously that’s not really doable now a ten and twelve year old are in the mix. They are actual children if that makes sense- not slightly pretentious tweens who would feel very sophisticated to get an aeropress and set of nice espresso cups iyswim.

So it’s tricky.

I am looking at board games, cosy stuff that would be ok oversized. Loop earplugs as well seemed like a good shout as they come in different sizes- adults might like for commuting, sleep…kids might like for their homework.

Unfortunately only two tweens (siblings) so they can’t do it amongst themselves.

How much do you want to spend?

As you say, if teenagers are in the mix then it gets tricky unless a couple of adults specifically buy for them.

However, you mention quality items, so how about one of those chests of chocolates.

Sounds like you don't mind spending quite a bit so how about one of those vouchers for a long weekend with dinner included. Boots have a great selection.

Thank you for the idea! we don’t mind because they host us for Christmas over 2 days, all food included (and they go all out!), drinks are flowing, we also stay in their guest room. They’re really generous with gifts too. I’ll have a look at the long weekend vouchers

The Family Stone. Star studded film and it’s not super super Christmassy but set at Christmas, on Disney +

Budget is £40. A chest of really nice quality chocolate is a nice idea- especially if it’s British. That might be a bit of a novelty!

My in laws do a secret Santa for the adults, but now the tweens want to join in. We have been asked to buy two more gifts as our daughter is spoiled rotten at Christmas and throughout the year as we live far away.

the secret Santa is like a communal one where people choose a present based on the wrapping/shapes and you can ‘steal’ gifts so you don’t know who you are buying for. This is the only present the adults get in the family so I always make an effort to go to the top of a budget and buy something that a few people would like.

So need to buy them a present each for the pile which is ‘suitable for ages’ - which is a tall task as the secret Santa tends to be home stuff for 40-60 year olds. I really don’t want the adults to get left with a naff present if my niece decides she wants the fancy candle set I bought with MIL or SIL in mind and equally I don’t want the kids to be left with a chopping board.

So what do I buy??

The only think I can think of is a board game or maybe something like an oodie.

Any ideas appreciated.

Oodie currently have 50% off so something like a black oodie would suit everyone.

Nice skin care/posh bath and body stuff, Candles, chocolate fondue set, nice photo frames (can add their own pictures depending on who ends up with them)

I used to love Pret’s Brie & walnut one, I can’t remember what they did to change it (feel like they took the walnuts out?) but it’s not been as good for a few years now. I tried Marks’ Brie & cranberry and agree with another poster here, far too much mayo.

At home I love making my own Brie and cranberry toasties - I’m going to add this to the food shop this week so thank you for the reminder!

Thanks. Yes I got some in the summer from TK Maxx that were short ones that she likes but she’s petite and so the pyjama bottoms are too long unfortunately.

Petite clothing is getting harder to find lately that’s why I like cuffed bottoms as they help but she doesn’t like cuffed
