I have bought a few gifts so far, a few heated throws which I think will go down a treat. Actually looking forward to xmas this year, last year we lost mum end of November and it felt like we didn't really know what to do with ourselves. Dad seems to be really embracing it which is really nice, it will always be different now but I think we can have nice xmases.

I too have two trees. Main tree and this little one in my bedroom that I put up last weekend. Didn’t take long to put up but would have been a lot quicker if SOMEONE didn’t need to inspect every bauble and then lick my hands when I was putting them on the tree 🤦‍♀️😂

I hate sad Christmas adverts. I'm sorry but life is hard enough, I don't want to burst into tears every time the TV comes on.

There's a house near me who've gone full on house lights and it made me smile when driving at night so I'm sure others will do the same with yours
My outside lights are all multi coloured, people always stop and look with their kids. But my wee elderly neighbour stopped me whilst I was putting them up last year and said they bring her so much joy every year 😭 so we’re doing it for the people 🤣🎄🎄🎅🏻🎅🏻

I keep buying wine for people for Christmas and drinking it 😂😭 This is becoming very costly as I have no self control but at the same time I want my Christmas shopping to be finished so it’s a vicious circle at this point 🎄

Every year since I've been driving I take my mum around our city to see all the lights on people's houses. I've got 2 kids now myself so the 4 of us will go this year and I'm so excited!
Ah this is lovely!

Many years ago, back in the 1970s when you could still drive down Oxford and Regent Street, my dad would drive us up there once a year to see the lights. I still remember my nanna saying one year that she'd never been to the West End see the lights (she lived in East London but never ventured out of the local area) so we took her with us ❤
Sadly she died a few months later so we never got to take her again. Glad she got to see them once though.

Can I just say, this is my first time on this thread and - with the utmost of love and respect- you can all just fuck off with your organisation.

Festive wishes,
Disorganised person

p.s I am just envious bcos I don’t have my shit together
p.p.s I have 3 teenage boys- any inspiration that isn’t £1,300 trampolines?

I’ve put the Christmas bedding on and waiting to see how long it’ll take my husband to notice 🤭

My daughter was excitedly telling me all about her nativity rehearsal today and sang me some of her song 🥹 she’s in reception so it’s our first nativity/Christmas concert.

I’ve got my first Christmas market tomorrow! I’ve ended up signing up to a few, two this weekend and one in a couple of weeks. Been so nice sitting crafting and watching cheesy Christmas films. I’ve got a Christmassy top to wear and a Christmas headband and earrings 🤣🎄

Seems unfair if the others in that side send a link of what they want but you’re not allowed to?

I’ve always been lucky that the grandparents on both sides have always given money for my kids savings accounts as they know they get too many presents. As my kids went into adulthood they had quite a little nest egg as we always saved any birthday and Xmas money they were given.
Quite. My husband is the problem but his family don’t want a direct relationship with me, I’ve tried.
things like setting up a family whats app, MIL deleted the app. SIL left the chat. Daughters just ignored it, was like tumbleweed.
Message them but find they’ve changed number and not told me etc.
it’s a very awkward family dynamic that I’m really not trying to take personally. He has 2 adult daughters that refer to me if they have to as my dad’s wife, usually they ignore me. I’ve been with him 14 years and married for 12, we weren’t the reason he split from his previous wife but this moan is probably for a different thread and not one to derail our happy Christmas thoughts

Just be warned. One minute you’re thinking how lovely everyone is and the next thing you know you’re looking at duvet covers with reindeer on and googling for festive handwash.

I lost my 95 year old mum in November 18 and Christmas Day won’t be the same but it’s different. I can only say this on here because I can’t be judged but it’s my granddaughters birthday on Christmas Eve so the excitement is about that not Christmas. 7 this year but boy does it complicate everything. Luckily enough to live nearby so involved everything & Christmas Day I’m now shattered but son with a Learning Disability so looks forward to Christmas lunch I still cook it.

In regards to Xmas weather and whether it will be a white Xmas or not, well, apparently this is the first time it's snowed in November since 2010, and that year it was a white Xmas, so fingers crossed we get a white Xmas. 😁❄☃🌨

The whiskey, fig and sliced honey pies are gorgeous 😍. A couple of things bought but the rest of the list I'm watching for sales on
There's one left as I had one and gave one each to my parents... had to remind myself it's Monday morning in the middle of October and not acceptable to eat it for breakfast.

Have a day's holiday from work today. Going out for breakfast with my mum and aunties, they are off on a nana holiday this week 😂, then think I'm going to take myself out for a autumn / festive day out. Little bit Christmas shopping, maybe the garden centre and grab a nice coffee somewhere. I'm in the process of getting divorced - look at me doing all this shit on my own 💪

Just come on to let you know that Home Bargains have got the velvet ribbon in at £1.49 in grey, red and green.
As I seem to be rebelling this year and going against what is dictated by the influenzas I naturally had to get the grey one to go with my beige, grey, white and cream looks. 😁
So I'll have a go at this velvet bows for the tree look.

Quoting myself 😁 but here's my first attempt at making some bows for the tree. It'll need some fine tuning but I'm impressed! 😁
