Feeling really festive with all the Christmas chat!
Christmas eve is definitely my favourite! We spend the morning delivering presents and having a Christmas clean and tidy ! ( Don't know why just a " tradition " now ) Then chill out playing games ,watching tv,l etc then we have a takeaway in the evening whilst watching the Christmas specials on TV . It has to be re runs of miranda, the vicar of dibley, not going out !
Mine are 19 and 20 but we still hide all the presents and put them out just before we go to bed !
My eldest is having their first baby at the beginning of next year and has asked for baby stuff instead of presents this year. I'm so looking forward to buying baby stuff but need to be reigned in ! ( see below for my Christmas confession )
I've still got them a few bits though , my 2 are used to quite big piles of presents ( I'm a over compensater as they don't receive anything from anyone in their dad's side of the family, I grew up in a split family and didn't really do Christmas- please don't judge my spending/ present piles) so it's been difficult as the kids have got older to maintain the amount of presents they have due to their tastes changing to designer so we had that chat and they were actually relived ! It turns out that they didn't like piles of presents and just wanted a few nore expensive things !
I just love Christmas! It's my favourite time of the year !

What does everyone eat Christmas eve do you have a takeaway, picky bits, sandwiches?
Always a Chinese takeaway. If not at work, get up really early to do the last clean/tidy and finish wrapping the last of the presents.
Then reward myself with a takeaway when kids are in bed.
We get a take away, usually two different ones as my partner loves Indian and I’m not fussed. Make the most of it as then for the next week we live off left over Christmas dinner meat, picky bits and selection boxes!
Whole camembert and bread to self + half a bottle of champagne. Maybe some roasted chestnuts
Takeaway here too. Usually pizza if I have anything to say about it.
We always have picky bits buffet (always make enough for a family of 5 when we’re just two adults!).. normally with an alcoholic drink whilst watching a Christmas film
Planning on having Xmas eve in on my own this year for the first time ever. Going to pig out on m&s food and booze infront of the christmas tree, fire, and tv!
For us it depends on whether we go back home or not. If yes we have picky bits as we stay with my grandma. If we stay home it's a takeaway usually Chinese, but if it was up to me I'd just eat a cheese board to myself

Always a takeaway here, quite late on once I’ve cleaned the whole house and changed the beds…I usually have Chinese, two teenagers could be anything from pizza, chips n cheese, kebabs, chippy or McDonald’s 
Have some Prosecco and wine, watching all the soaps, always gets me in the mood
and finally order boys not to come out their room after 11. I put all the presents out and listen to the midnight carol service on BBC. I absolutely love it, if it’s freezing cold outside, but sadly never normally is.

Turkey and stuffing sandwiches with a few picky bits.
I used to cook a full meal but it was too much knowing the amount of food that’s on offer the next few days.
I admire all of you who do picky bits Christmas Eve. We did that one year, and between navigating things out of the packed fridge, the prep, the mess and - the worst bit - navigating the leftover picky bits BACK INTO the fridge, plus on top of that, cleaning the mess that needed 100% attention so that Christmas Day didn’t start in a coleslaw/sausage roll/pickled onion washing up mountain was enough to give me a seasonal hernia! For this very reason, we now just do a beige tray bake (aka, chips and fish fingers).
