She could have given him safety gloves herself. Everyone knows how dangerous ice-skating is.

I grew up and was taught you fall protect your fingers. I got told the risks my children now get told the same

I have to say, I’ve never been told to wear safety gloves on my kids ice skating. I’m going to from now on though.
I don’t think she’s done much wrong here tbh.
But what glove is actually going to protect a child’s finger from a metal blade…?

Horrific thing to happen to the poor child and lots of sympathy for them, but ffs a government petition. It was somewhat of a freak accident. A neighbour’s toddler lost their little finger when the car door slammed on his hand. Again, absolutely terrible but accidents happen.

I don't know who he went with?. It couldn't have been his school because he wouldn't have got on the ice without the gloves that protect them from the cold and sharp blades. Youth clubs probably have they rules in place too. Chloe should know about gloves.
I don’t know about these gloves? It’s literally never been mentioned to me when I’ve taken them ice skating.

I mean, horrible thing to happen but you have to be pretty stupid not to realise the risk! I also don’t know about the gloves but I’ve not been ice skating in a long time and my kids are too young for it. But I remember my mum scaring me to death as a kid ice skating saying make sure you put your fingers in if you fall! I thought the red ice hockey markings on the ice was blood
