I loved the Famous Five. It wasn't on TV when I was little but we rented several series from the video shop during school holidays.

Yup that’s the one! Honestly, I remember my mum briefly watching a bit and being all “I don’t think this is suitable for children!” before settling down to watch it with us every week! The dad was an accountant for a drug dealer called the gorgon who then went after them therefore they were put into witness protection. I think the family dog was killed as a warning or this could be my imagination?

Literally should have been on as an itv drama after the watershed not on bloody cbbc!

was it based on a book? I remember reading a very similar book at school

I am sure there was also a series about Ariel (The Little Mermaid)

I also watched things like - Pepper Anne, Sabrina (Orignal & the animated series)
The Worst Witch, Sailor Moon, The Sleepover Club, Mona the Vampire, The Shiney Show, Teletubbies, Rosie & Jim!

Sounds like something I would enjoy, but missed it. 1999 was my era, too. It must've clashed with something on CITV.

I think I mentioned some of the more mature shows I watched a few pages back. I am unsure but just to list a few... You Bet. Anyone remember that? Gladiators, you've been framed with Jeremy Beadle, BlockBusters, Noel Edmonds House Party - Mr Blobby, Top Of The Pops, Blind Date, Goodness Gracious Me (I loved this show!), 999 and always watched a vetinary programme hosted by Rolf Harris.

Animal Hospital I think was the one with Rolf - I never liked him back than, always putting his arm around the women.

I loved You Bet with Matthew Kelly. Can still hum the theme tune. I was talking about it a few weeks ago with family and NO ONE remembered it! Thought I'd dreamed it all up!

Saturday night telly was great back then. The Generation Game and Bullseye were other faves.

No, it was a boy puppet with a big nose, I’m now not sure if it spat or blue raspberry’s, it was bloody annoying though

Not childrens tv but Saturday lunchtimes on itv with The Chart Show followed by The Sullivans and The Munsters.

Channel Four were showing the Munsters on weekday evenings in the early 80s.

My eldest son loved Brum and Blues clues
