Children's television programmes you remember

I don't think that was a magic changing room he visited-I think it was a drug den. That shopkeeper wore a fez, so may have been North African or Turkish and giving Benn really strong hashish! Benn thought he'd gone to other lands and times but was just stoned!

I was lucky enough to receive an email from Mr Benn once! Or at least from Ray Brooks, the actor who voiced Mr Benn. He is quite a talented chap really.

Banana Splits - I used to love the cartoon serials that were shown. The Arabian Knights and The Three Musketeers.
The ghosts of Motley Hall
Does anyone remember the serial Children of the stones - a genuinely scary series set in Avebury Wiltshire. They gave it another name in the series. Avebury is well worth a visit.

Hey Arnold, Rugrats, As Told by Ginger, The Wild Thornberries, Recess, SpongeBob, Pinky and the Brain, Kim Possible, Arthur, Dexter's Laboratory, All That, Clarissa Explains, Ren & Stimpy, Sabrina, Kenan & Kel, Sister Sister, The Amanda Show, Moesha, anything with Mary Kate & Ashley.

Basically Nickelodeon, with a bit of Cartoon Network and the Disney Channel. I can still remember the old 90s Sky menu and how Cartoon Network was at the top, Nickelodeon was in the middle and Disney was at the bottom. Anyone remember that? lol. All my friends watched British shows like My Parents Are Aliens and Tracey Beaker but I'd never seen them.

I hated Newsround and Blue Peter, mainly because they would signal my TV time was up.

I remember Magic Roundabout being in the 5.35 pm slot and enjoying it but also finding it depressing, because after that it was time for the grown-up stuff like the news. I never found Blue Peter interesting in itself but sat through it to get to MR or whatever was in that final slot, plus John Noakes and Lesley Judd were friendly, familiar faces and like a teacher whose subject you didn't like but they were nice as a person.

Tots TV, Rosie and Jim, Raggydolls, the smurfs, moomin, bagpuss, bill and Ben the flower pot men, Inspector Gadget, budgie the helicopter.

The early 80s had the best cartoons... Button Moon, Trapdoor, Raggy Dolls, Thundercats, He-man and SheRa, Why bird, Allsorts, Supergran,Glen Michaels cartoon cavalcade ( think this may have only been on in Scotland?)I could go on! And we only had 3 or 4 channels. No Netflix back then!!

Also Through the Dragons Eye. I had to move to a new school before the last episode aired (we would watch in the school hall) and I was GUTTED!!

Lol, looking back, I don’t see how on Earth any of us were even able to see anything, a whole year group (or maybe a larger group than that, can’t remember) all gathered in the school hall watching a small TV

There was also a show that had a crocodile and a chicken, and a fox, and there was a chick in an egg who lived on the windowsill. I think it was called Chicken Minute?

Yes! I remember this

As a kid, bedtime for me was always signalled by Max and Ruby, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, and then Little Bear on immediately afterwards. I had to watch all of those cartoons before I’d go to bed.

When I was very young, I loved Bear in the Big Blue House (the goodbye song still makes me cry), Come Outside, Kipper, Rosie and Jim, Brum.

I got a little bit older (I’d say 7ish?) and they started showing the old cartoons on Noggin/Nick Jr bedtime - King Rollo, Mr Benn, Rainbow, Bod, Button Moon, Trumpton. I liked them all except Bod who was a bit creepy and Trumpton which was dull. There was another one - camberwick green? Omg, zzz. Soz to any camberwick green lovers.

I loved King Rollo. My brother learnt how to tie his shoelaces watching that
