Tu clothing. I am a former clothes horse, I used to go to Oxford Street every Friday. I used to spend a lot of money on clothes per month. But I have fallen out of love with shopping so TU clothing, which I pick up with a big shop in Sainsbury’s, is all I seem to wear these days. Shops like M&S have dumbed down their quality so I don’t think I am missing out. (I occasionally buy something in an independent shop but I just can’t be arsed these days in schlepping to shops whose offerings are badly made and expensive). Their t-shirts are cheaper and better quality than M&S. Never in a million years would I think that I would be buying most of my wardrobe from Sainsburys.

Tbh, the sheer duration I wear each bra for really means that I can only machine wash mine Pressure washering like a green patio would also work. I just don't think a tickle in the sink is gonna cut it

Found a new cheap thing I like - the local college salon staffed by hairdressing students.

Had a full head of highlights with a cut and style and they did a brilliant job. I have dark hair and the highlights are this gorgeous toffee colour, thrilled to bits with them! They’re blended really well, I was scared they’d be stripy or chunky but needn’t have worried.
Also had a significant chop, think underboob length cut to shoulder length and it looks great , very happy with it.

The whole lot cost £32. Trips to my usual hairdresser have cost £200+ in the past!
Totally recommend seeing if your local college has anything like this.

I went to Iceland for the first time in ages yesterday after reading this post Stocked the freezer up with the stone baked pizzas etc that someone mentioned before. There is something quite comforting knowing that you can put a meal together from the freezer in winter and the snow etc.

I bought a massive thing of plain Greek yogurt and I add a spoonful of strawberry jam to the top. So yummy! I’m having it twice a day atm, much cheaper and more delicious than buying flavoured yogurts!

Hello it’s called Femelle! They do a men’s one that’s meant to be sauvage but i don’t remember the name. They usually have samples out so test them and see what you think. I don’t like the one that’s a dupe of a Chanel one as it’s so strong and really clings on!

I have a teen and I still get through baby wipes! Skirting board’s, marks on carpets or sofas, pack in the car for touch ups, quick Fanny washes Best invention ever! Baby wipes are needed always, parent or not

Thoughts and opinions on shein? I only ever heard bad quality reviews but a colleague (who never shuts up) was going on about it the other day and completely raved about it.

It's too cheap, so cheap you know there has to be exploitation involved. I think some people rave about it because they could get a whole capsule wardrobe for less than 100 quid. I have also seen a few Shein dresses in charity shops and the fabric is often awful polyester that somehow still bobbles up and feels rough to the touch, and any lacy trims etc they use looks cheap and rough to touch. I'm not sure their items are quality to be honest. Honestly the only affordable place near me (that isn't Primark) that does decent quality clothes is Sainsbury's. Their tshirts and tops are alright.

Mayflower powdered curry sauce and gravy. Comes in boxes in cheap shops like B and M, Heron etc. Can make up as normal curry sauce and gravy in a jug or just add a few tsps to other sauces/soups to slightly flavour/thicken. Both accidentally vegan. Curry comes in medium and hot.

Essence makeup in Wilko. For stuff like lip liners, a quid or two each, can't go wrong. W7 eyeshadow palettes, about six quid in B&M and dupes for the Huda palettes (loads of YouTube videos comparing).

I've recently changed from branded detergent to Aldi or Lidl tablets/pods and they're great and way cheaper. Smell lovely and I've noticed no difference in how clean my clothes are.

Zara and New Look for cheap day to day perfumes. Zara have some really nice ones and New Look has a Flowe Bomb (I think) dupe called Dusk which is nice if you like that sort of thing.

Aldi Freeman's Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. About £6.50 and easily on par with £9 bottles from other brands.

Primark stick on nails and false lashes are great for a pound each.

Superdrug Vitamin E skincare range is affordable, smells lovely and is usually 3 for 2.

Tesco branded nappies. I switched from Pampers when my second was born as it was getting expensive buying them. So much better than pampers, no leaks, nice fit. Wish I had got them with my first would of been so much more cost effective.

I used tp get my hair cut at the local college's hairdressing salon. Most ot the time I had a really good hair cut for quite a good price.

The other half and I are quite fond of the local college restaurant. Three courses for about £6.50 including tea and coffee, and the food is really good. They do fancier meals for special occasions and the odd gourmet night - it’s a bit more expensive but still really good.
