Following on from the tech discussion, giving them one of our phones is an absolute last resort in a restaurant - we bring puzzle books, colouring, Polly Pockets etc but sometimes I let them play a game on my phone if they're really fed up. They know they are not allowed it up loud. One of my biggest irritations is parents who let their sprogs watch phones in restaurants on full volume! And you can even get Cosatto pushchairs with tablet/phone pockets in the hood so kids can watch while they're lying in the buggy....!

Tech can be great and even a social thing but it needs to be in moderation not just an excuse to be lazy. My girls' tablets sit in a cupboard for weeks on end. My eldest has one of our old phones for listening to audio books at night but we took every other app off it as we didn't want her on it in bed. She would if she could but as parents we need to put the boundaries in now or they'll end up addicted. I worry for Noah, when the new baby comes he'll be stuck in front of it even more as she won't be able to cope.

I can’t believe the amount of mothers that put there kids in trollies and give them an iPad and have it on loud.
Well they get looks of me I can tell you,why so bloody loud ,it’s my shopping experience and there’s these bastard mothers shoving huge iPads in their faces.
Parenting these days is quite disturbing.
