So while Lou & Mollie went out she hung herself?

Lou & Mollie don’t seem friends now.

In the kindest way, her Mum just wants/needs someone to blame. And her friends weren't responsible in any way shape or form for her actions. Only Caroline was.

Sounds like a massive case of denial as to how mentally unwell her daughter was. Why wasn't she with her if she was that concerned?

A lot has been written about CF since her passing. Lots of it has been sensitively handled but reading between the lines it’s clear what sort of person she was and what sort of life she led.

Her mum blaming her friends, the CPS, the police and anyone else is misguided at best. Her image has been largely protected by her friends when they could have quite easily have sold stories on her to put forward their version of the days weeks leading to her taking her life.

I mean no disrespect, but was it ever addressed why Caroline always seemed to date much younger men?

And if she publicly denigrates them, her mum may find Caroline’s friends have less loyalty than they’ve shown to date. She’s playing a very dangerous game.

I wish her mum had someone who cared about her telling her to back off and to get some therapy

I’ve never been on the CF love train. I found her immature and annoying and the fact that people blamed her victims of asssault disgusting

It’s understandable, she’s grieving. She probably knows what her daughter was like, but it’s easy to rewrite history and blame others as a coping mechanism. I didn’t pay too much attention to CF, so I don’t know what she was like. Can anyone point me to some facts?
By the way, I always suspected that she leaked the info about her and Prince Harry.

Wasn’t a fan either, since her death her name gets bandied about as a reminder of how the press and media led to her death. People (mostly women) get told to “be kind” if anything vaguely critical is said about another woman in the public eye.

A lot of her lifestyle and relationship choices are mostly hinted at now. She thrived off the column inches dedicated to her love life, dress sense and party lifestyle. Like most female presenters who are largely chosen for their looks I think she lived in fear of being replaced by someone younger and hotter.

I remember feeling very badly for her then-boyfriend. He had been through a lot with her-and he had been actually LAMPED for it. Which is why they were looking to prosecute her. I think she realized she was in real danger of doing time for what happened and, well, we all know what happened next.
People should always be kind, and I do remember she was hounded after this arrest

Maybe she should have taken her own advice. She assaulted her boyfriend.

I know she’s been sort of made into a saint since she died and people are saying she killed herself because of how horrible the press was. Being driven to suicide is an horrendous feeling.
At the same time she did sound quite manipulative - combined with her assaulting her boyfriend and emotionally instability I wonder if she dated younger men because they were easier to control or had less life experience.

According to the inquest Lou and Millie called an ambulance the night before she killed herself because Caroline had messaged them that she was going to kill herself and they found her barely conscious in the living room with pills near her. Caroline refused medical help and the next day was angry at her friends for calling the ambulance and wanted them to leave.
She had also apparently tried to take her life in December the previous year. Why was it left to her friends to look after such a mentally fragile person?

Like someone else said, I think she had a problem with growing older.
She was 40 and dating guys in their 20's.

Her mother should not be blaming her friends...what were they supposed to do...give up their own lives in order to baby sit her??

Where was her mother? Maybe she didn't know?
Not blaming her Mum.

She now always gets used as a byword for a star being hounded by the press but she wasn't really hounded until the last couple of months of her life and that was because she'd done something illegal. What I mean is, before the assault she was featured in the tabloids a lot but she wasn't a hate figure or someone the media revelled in targeting. Thinking of female celebrities who were constantly ridiculed for their looks, their weight, their relationships, their lifestyle, she wasn't one of them. There'd be articles about her love life but it wasn't relentless Caroline Flack stories until she assaulted her boyfriend.

Tbh at the time of Caroline’s death I did question why her friends would leave her when she was so critically high risk and had already attempted suicide the night before, but for the mother to question their absence so publicly in a way that almost blames them for her death is so inappropriate. Every criticism she has directed at them could also be directed towards herself. Caroline was so vulnerable and clearly having a mental breakdown while going through the lowest moment of her life, her friends did their best; where was her mother?

Having a family member or close friend with serious mental health issues is really hard, there is nothing you can actually do when they are intent on hurting themselves, whether that is addiction, toxic relationships, self harm etc.
Caroline was 40 years old, she was an adult and it wasn’t her friends responsibility to give her round the clock monitoring. Caroline declined medical help and wouldn’t accept intervention. Where was her mum at the time? It’s easy enough to lay the blame at the feet of the friends who tried to help but Caroline needed to be in hospital and the fact she wouldn’t accept any help basically rendered anyone else powerless

I liked Caroline, it was obvious she had her demons. I liked her style and that she was unapologetic about the lifestyle she enjoyed but I don’t think anyone drove her to take her life. No more than anyone else is driven to it, their own thoughts are what motivates it. if it hadn’t been then there is a really good chance it would have been later, sad as it is

I’ve thought this too, they were a really close knit family and Caroline had lots and lots of friends. Lou T had a young child at the time too, what was she supposed to do, have her young child at Caroline’s flat or just farm her out to be looked after?

Could she have been saved? Yes probably through therapy and medication over the proceeding 20 years.

But it later transpired that to stop the press writing stories about the seedier side of her life she gave them interviews etc to keep them sweet.

Also, after her suicide, a letter was found that she had written to Lewis all about how she hoped they could find harmony. She didn’t mention the loss of her job or the court case. She hated that she wasn’t allowed contact with him and still seemed obsessed with him.

Of course all her celeb friends blamed the media but she didn’t help herself.

I always thought the friends left thinking that CF sister would arrive imminently.

From watching the documentary it seemed like Caroline had suffered with her mental health from her teen years and it had been very much linked to her relationships with men. I think whether or not Caroline had become famous, she'd have gone down that path anyway. Her mum couldn't stop her pressing the self destruction button back when she was 15/16. You certainly can't lay the blame on friends who were doing their best.
Isn't it quite common that when someone has made the decision to take their own life they'll appear to have rallied and calmed down? I suspect that was the case here.

Remind me that we are talking about the same DV incident?

On 13 December 2019, Flack was charged with assaulting her boyfriend, after an incident reported by Burton at her flat the previous morning.
Police found Flack covered in blood when they arrived, and they reported that she admitted that she had struck Burton (saying "I did it, I whacked him round the head like that"), before warning them she would kill herself.
Her inquest later found that Flack had hit and attacked Burton while he slept as she thought he was cheating, and that Burton had sustained a head wound.
On 17 December, Flack stood down from hosting Love Island in order to "not detract attention from the upcoming series".
