It was lovely seeing Sr Evangelina come to take Sr Monica Joan off to heaven. I thought it was a little over the top for Sr Catherine to be so emotional over the death of a 90 odd yr old woman she's only known for two minutes but I suppose, having read, they rewrote due to Jenny Agutta's absence. They could have had some nuns come from the Mother House, such as Sr Winnifred or Sr Mary Cynthia and Sheila could have been with her.
I think this series has been much improved overall but it didn't get me crying in the way it did the first few years.

I know actors always say that they don't want to come back for 1 scene, that they want it to be meaningful ( see also certain Bridgeton cast members), but I think that half the time they either can't be bothered or think they are somehow now above the show that made them a big name.
Yes she wasn’t a nurse as such. I’ve started watching from the start, she Just left with no goodbye or reason. I know chummy had returned and she was a stand in for her. But they never mentioned Jane again.
Didn't Jane go off with the extremely chatty vicar played by Jason Watkins? I've just watched the episode where she arrives, I'd completely forgotten about this character!
Yes, Jane went off with the Vicar. It is mentioned in a throw away line. I have seen people ask about this before, as in some countries they make some cuts for time and they missed it completely.

The actress who played Jane was in Gold the tv series about the Brinks Mat robbery. I puzzled for ages where I’d seen her as this character was brash, loud and so different. Fair play she has quite the acting range.

. Why did the Turner kids write temporary closed on Nonnatus House. Sister Julienne I felt was talking in riddles and I had no idea if it was closing or not. I know they’re doing missionary work for a year. So what happens to the building. Who do the midwives now work for? Maybe I need to watch again, I have too many questions. There was a lot in that final episode.

She is hilarious as Pauline in Mum. She does have a great range!
Because this was a "soft" ending Call the Midwife" will be back with a movie set in Australia in 2027 and series 16 in 2028
It was an end of a era with probably a slightly different cast and set.
I don't understand why they didn't just end it properly. This open ended "it's the end for now! we're going on a break! we'll be back!" is so confusing. It's come to a natural conclusion, people weren't having home births as much at this point in history, the real nuns themselves moved away in the mid 1970s. Just let it go

I was assuming the prequel would be at least 6 or 8 episodes, but I saw something saying it'll only be three (probably Christmas, Boxing and New Year's Days.)
Your probably right BBC will need something to fill the gap Christmas day
It might be like when Heinz announced it was getting rid of salad cream and the outcry gave them more publicity so they didn’t
