I thought the death was a bit corny but the bit after was so beautiful

Sister Catherine has been such a good character
Sister Evangelina got me instantly lol

Then the very end hit me aswell. End of an era as it won't be the same however it returns as everything has closed etc now

For a scene that could have been so cheesy, it was actually lovely, and very fitting for Sr Monica Joan 😭

I would love a spin off with Sr Beryl/ Veronica and Nurse Crane and Miss Higggins. They could be like Charlies Angels solving crimes in no time. Young Dr T is a poppet

I haven't cried at CTM for a few years (it used to get me every time) but tonight really got me in the feelings🥹 it had the potential to be a bit corny but Sister Monica Joan's death was actually quite well done. As soon as she said she'd seen Sister Maud I knew we'd see Sister Evangelina again!

I feel quite sad that something I've loved for so many years (yet frequently been frustrated by and ridiculed for its tweeness) has come to an end. I'm looking forward to seeing the prequel bit if I'm honest I'd probably rather watch a Nurse Crane/Miss Higgins spin off🤣

I know we have said the writing has been poor the past few years but this last episode got me.
I've been watching this show for 15 years from been told I couldn't have children to finally having three it has grown with me.
Sr Monica Joan's death was well done and as someone who has recently lost a love one I hope they had the same passing. I loved seeing Sr Evangelina it had me sobbing and like someone else said I haven't cried at this show in a long time.
I'm not sure of the soft ending if I'm honest, I would of preferred if Nonnatus House was to be closed for good. Yet I do look forward to a prequel but not so much a sequel.

Do find it weird how Sister Julienne was shipped off to the mother house for most of last 2 episodes leaving the new nun on her own for most of the time with Sister Monica Joan, she's only been there 5 minutes?

I also thought this surely she should of been with Sister Monics Joan as she passed away

I've just read the prequel will focus on younger versions of sister Monica Joan, Evangelina and Julienne during WW2 and could feature Sister Maude as mentioned in final episode.

Reading between the lines, I think they adapted the scenes because of the ill health of Jenny Agutter’s husband. He passed away last year :(

I might have to go back and watch it but did they show any photographs at the end with Chummy? She played such a good part and I don’t recall seeing her but could be wrong x

I didn’t see her but I’m not sure if Lucille was there either.
I’d totally forgotten about the tiny midwife who became a nun. Sorry I can’t recall her name.

I cried when Sister Monica Joan died and I really hope that’s what does happen. 😢

Cynthia! I only know this because I’m rewatching from the start. I had forgotten loads including that she went on to become a nu!

I thought that last episode was really great. It really made me cry. I feel bad for slagging off recent series. I’d be up for a Beryl and Geoffrey spin off!

An article in the mirror say prequel set in ww11 later this year, sequel movie set in Australia early next year and series 16 will be in 2028

I thought that was a great ending.
I felt really sad for Beryl making the decision to stay with the order. I can see why she did it, but I really felt for her having to come to terms with the fact that she had missed her opportunity.

I wish we could have seen more of Sister Julienne, but i read somewhere ( can't remember if here or reddit) that her husband irl died last year so she may have been limited in when she could film.

I loved Sister Catherine. She was a great late addition character. I wish we could have seen more for her.

Lastly, I loved the scene of them all seeing the ultrasound pictures. It is such a common technology now, we forgot how mind blowing it must have been to see it first being used.

The look on Nurse Crane’s face was priceless!

Australia was one of the places Sister Julienne mentioned them going next, so this would make sense.
