So apparently it’s a sequel rather than a “reboot” and they are expecting previous cast members to show up. But I guess they would have a hard time explaining why the likes of Spike had aged

Did Joss ever respond to the issues. I mean James Gunn said some very weird things. Was it actually proven ?
I’ve been on Buffy/ Teen Wolf/ Supernatural binge as I’m out of hospital the past month.
So my goal to get better is to attend a Comic Con meet Spike,Jared And Tyler from the shows.
I watched Cordy and Spike ( James & Charisma) in Supernatural and was massively left down apart from a kiss between characters.
Shame they can’t get Kripke onboard then the reboot could be worthy.

I love Buffy and pulled a face at the idea of a reboot/sequel because I've seen what that kind of treatment has done to SATC with AJLT, but looking at the writing/production team fills me with some hope!

I have watched Buffy several times now and was an avid fan from the off, I can never tire of telling my 20 something daughters how Buffy was a very subversive show at the time X

(I also have a thing about recycled costumes and spotted quite a few Buffy/friends crossover outfits but that’s a bit off piste)

I’ve been a huge fan of Buffy since season 2 first aired on the BBC.

I kind of despair at this news. I feel like the revival is going to serve as a direct response to Trump 2.0 and Whedon and it’s going to be dreadful.

Trying to be polite, the fanbase used to be relatively broad but over the years has whittled down and now it’s mostly just the weirdos. I find the podcasts and fan accounts impossible to enjoy because the hosts feel the need to continuously share their pronouns and call people “trash” for not sharing their politics.

I’m also curious as to who will appear from the original series. Nicholas Brendon and Michelle Trachtenberg are both a hot mess, James Marsters and Boreanaz (less so) are looking 30 years older than they did in 97. Alyson Hannigan is friends with Joss so may not want to be involved now. Eliza Dushku no longer acts and I think is married to a billionaire. Anya and Tara and Cordelia are dead. Hopefully Anthony Head will be up for it though.

I would love for Giles to return and would actually be ok if the only two returning characters were Buffy and Giles. A Drusilla return as the Big Bad would be great too.

But you just know it’s going to be stuffed with the likes of Tom Lenk and other characters from season 6 and 7.

I've noticed that the kids are rediscovering all the '90s/'00s shows, I keep seeing fan edits popping up on TikTok. It's a really weird feeling to see people half my age enjoying stuff I watched when I was young...

I can't complain about reboots because the revival of Galactica is one of my favourite things, so I'm duty bound to give anything a chances.

No-one ever stays dead in the Buffyverse though! I think Cordelia will definitely come back because of all the Whedon stuff. I never listened to the Slayers podcast, wasn't Kendra back in that? At least the advert seemed to suggest it.

recently rewatched Buffy (and Angel) for the first time since seeing them as a teenager in the 90s and i was BLOWN AWAY by how great the shows were!!!!! i've been trying to tell everyone/anyone but they think im nuts and see the show(s) as just a silly vampire series for kids.
