Just watched first episode, I was only born in 1974 so don't remember the earlier years.

Did anybody notice Claire Sweeney was in the fifth episode this week?

She was playing a character called Paula, who was the girlfriend of Damon’s mate Mark. Damon got them to babysit his little sister for him whilst he went out
Thought I recognised her, normally ask the husband when there's an old face turn up but he then goes on one for ten minutes telling me how old they are now, or if they're dead, other TV programmes they've appeared in etc, he's like a walking Wikipedia for the 80 and 90s TV and music 😂 I did mean to check her name in the credits but forgot.

Havent seem 10pm one felt everything was rushed tbh.i take it sheila bought s house back on the close?
There's no brookie in the 10pm one!
So it looked like Sheila and Billy still together but her and Bobby had abit of a dalliance a few months before? Which surprised me knowing Sheila and her faith.
Cameo appearance by Phil Redmond, he needs a haircut!

That ending when Sheila was just about to tell Terry something, I had to Google, I'd totally forgotten about that!!!
I think I know what it is as I'm sure I've read about it before, what day do the episodes drop?

Unpopular opinion but I love that era of Brookside. Always ahead of its time as all the soaps are crazy now 😂.

Have you got to the Suzannah car crash yet?
I just love it all. Yes I have. That was a few months ago. My favourites are Jimmy and Julia. Sadly Gladys Ambrose dies soon irl I think. 😢

I am actually loving the Heather and Nick storyline - even though they seem mismatched and he looks like the most unlikely heroin addict.
I think Heather leaves the close when this storyline comes to an end.

An unpopular opinion, but I never liked Ricky Tomlinson playing Bobby Grant. I think it’s the way he flies off the handle with no warning, with his long side parted hair flying about. I never found him convincing - and don’t get me started on Matty 🤣

Sheila and Barry were the best actors in the Grant household IMO

Just to add.
I grew up in Liverpool in the 80s (quite near Brookside Close). Bobby Grant’s hair was a topic of conversation at the time.
I was probably the same age as Damon when it was filmed, with my dad (and dad’s of my friends) being near the same age as Bobby.
NO middle aged man had hair like Bobby Grant!!!
I don't like the way Bobby has changed, but I've never noticed his hair before!

That was uncomfortable viewing between Bobby and Sheila.
And poor Claire having to witness that fallout between Kathy and Jimmy.

Heather's giggling is absolutely UNBEARABLE! Just after 6 minutes on episode 368 made me want to jump through the TV.

I loved the first ten years of brookside, so will be watching this on STV Player. I’m surprised that we didn’t see much of Paul Usher outside of Brookie, he was fantastic as Barry Grant

Some of the characters are beyond irritating - I had forgotten how much so. Lucy Collins is no.1 irritant for me 😵💫😆
Closely followed by Gavin Taylor..
I am surprised at how badly Alexandra Pigg plays Petra Taylor. Is it just me who finds that she seems to struggle with the role? Some of her facial expressions look really forced.
Have to admit I do like Lucy's rebelling against her snob father though, some stinging barbs aimed at him.
Quite witty
