The woman who plays Pat’s girlfriend Fran, from the band, turns up again 11 years later as Margi Shadwick, the mum of the Shadwicks

I didn't know that, i think there's been a few who have reappeared as different characters over the years.

That's great, I was wondering if they were going to show it! And extra episodes for Xmas, that's good to!

Just caught up, the aids storyline was very good played by Josh from casualty!
Then we had poison Pearce from London's burning turn up, and yay, looks like Pat is leaving!

I couldn't wait for the series to get to Damon and Debbie and was determined to watch it in sequence. When I was a kid I absolutely loved that spin off (even though it was probably far too young to watch it).

But...OMG.. How things look different over time. The cheesiest 80s theme tune ever at the end of each of the three episodes, a terrible storyline, abysmal acting. The brothers only just finding out that Debbie was diabetic yet at the end saying to her they could finally give her sweets. On top of all that Damon was an emotional and physical wick.

Scenes I thought I remembered well but that also looked totally differently back then.

I thought I'd seen the Damon and Debbie series, but didn't remember any of it, blimey it didn't half drag on and really wasn't that good.

When the policeman headed to Sheilas, her face said everything, there was no need to see him telling her about Damon, great acting.
I never liked Doreen first time around, but I'm going to miss her now!
Good episodes this week!

That scene where Sheila was in the window really stuck in my head and I was only a kid when I watched it!

Also the start of a storyline when she was comforting Billy...

The Damon and Debbie mini series was dreadful, it could have all been done in one 30min episode. Damon was playing a totally different character to what we've seen before. The scene were he got physical with Debbie was so out of character. The uncle turns up as a different character in years to come, Ray Quinns dad if I remember correctly. Was great to see Morecambe and Frontierland though, we spent a lot of our youth there and it struck up some great memories.
To be fair all the early episodes of Brookside are tit, with a lot of weak storylines and characters. I'm patiently waiting for Bar Brookie, the Jordaches, Tinhead and Jen Ellison to appear.

I can’t wait either! Peak 90s Brookside is incredible and the best soap ever. I can’t get into 80s Brookside. I found it so boring.

I'm liking the 80s, the start was abit slow, but am enjoying it at the moment!

Suppose it was slow to start as not many families were introduced at first. As the months go on it gets better and I did enjoy the Alan Partridge scenes and Harry Cross with his gnomes 🤣 Phil Redmond did get the humour mixed with real life worries down to a T, kudos to him.
I liked Annabelle and not Paul so much to start, but that's the other way round now, she annoys me with her judgemental high pitched voice. Not sure of her real life name but she died really young, a couple of years after starting at Brookie I think and I can't remember what storylines the Collins family have coming up, so I'm interested to watch that again.
I do look forward to a Wednesday night 🙊

That bloody Bobby
He's a miserable git but how kind and caring is Barry towards his Mum?
I've read this was a big reason why Ricky Tomlinson left, Bobby was so awful to Sheila, which was a great shame as the were the original brookside family.

Sorry for dreadful typing, can't find.me glasses grrrr

Bobby was really horrible, maybe feeling guilty on how he treated Damon?
Glad Barry stood up and spoke about him and included Debbie, was nice to see his old mates turn up for funeral, Gizmo had a haircut!
New family moved in,the Rogers, do remember them, but not their stories!
Can tell it's coming up to Xmas, Terry's dad has turned up!
