god, I'd forgotten all about ritchie and billie!

surely we must lay some blame at his door for her subsequent terrible taste in men 😬
I read Billie's autobiography a couple of years back and she speaks about her and Ritchie smoking weed together when she was 16. Safeguarding really wasn't a thing then, huh.

How was it Xmas number one 30 years ago 🙈🙈 How am I that old 🤦‍♀️
Welcome to the club haha. Was only a kid but always remember how happy Take That looked introducing them as Christmas number 1 on TOTP, which made a mockery of the so called rivalry and hatred the two groups had.

How is Lee from 991 fifty? He still looks two decades younger.

I am a man and remember watching All Saints on my birthday in 1999 and my ear drums I don't think have ever recovered from the screams Damage got as the support act.

I was of the Westlife generation and liked them for a couple of years but so did my mum (she wasn’t a ‘young mum’ either) they really were the perfect boyband creation. I seem to remember though that ‘breaking America’ being a thing for bands and I don’t think they ever did. Did they have fame outside Ireland and UK?

Gary Barlow was born middle aged.
💯

Honestly he was never boy band material. He’s a bleeping nerd who loves keyboards and synths and learned stage craft playing working men’s clubs. He can’t dance for tit. He’s so cheesy! I do have such a soft spot for him though.

take that are way too old to be dancing to pray now the pray video is gorgeous but more people need to love babe its a classic and the video
In their defence I think they know it’s slightly ridiculous but they know the fans love it I still love it.

got the 3rd episode on iPlayer and my god, duncan james has never aged

must have a portrait in the attic
His face is 90% Botox and filler, surely?

I'm the Westlife generation too my mum was more into rock and I hated it. I remember listening to everybody rock your body so many times and watching the video I would have been about 5 when it came on but that's my intro to boybands 😂

Just watching episode two and it’s so good! My love of boy bands started and ended with Take That but I remember the later bands so well.

I remember Scott from Five was quite local to me, and once or twice visited the supermarket in Basildon where I had a Saturday job right at the height of their fame 😅

It’s quite sobering too, listening to Robbie say that no one can have that level of fame and come out of it with mental health intact. He’s right. I hated him for ditching TT and being such an arrogant wick, but modern day Robbie is so eloquent and speaks so well about what fame did to him.
This show is my teenager life! Liked both tt and east 17!! Saw east17 live!
then it was 911 … I was marrying Lee and a still would! Loved 5ive and remember going to sega world in Basildon hopin to see Scott who still lives in pitsea lol
Went to the smash hits poll winners party 98 when westlife won best new comer or something they were west side then!
Was obsessed with a1 and ben!

You're not, I still love that song and choreography! And the futuristic styling 😂 Victoria forever my favourite Spice and she was so funny in this era. I think she said they were drunk the whole time.
What’s her line? This tune’s gonna punish you 😂

Ice cream, you're out of your mind. Dane, you're out of your mind. This tunes gonna punish you 👌🏽

I'm still on BBC 2, now it's Hanson. I wasn't big into them but I saw them in 2005 live and they were actually excellent. And Taylor was stunningly beautiful.

It's also absolutely true that Mmmbop's lyrics hit different when you're 40 not 14 🥺

Why have you got Hansen and I'm stuck with TOTP 2 (which I usually love) but I now have whoever originally sang Love me for a Reason, not Hanson. Bloody regional differences 😂.

Love an Mmmbop sing along in the car.

Err...there must be a delay because yeah Mmmbop is now on. I haven't paused it?! Creeps away quietly...

I used to date a guy who’s claim to fame was that he went to school with Richie so knew his real name was actually Richard Neville Dobson 😂 This was way back in the days before Google and Wikipedia

Gary Barlow was born middle aged.
He was always an old man before his time. Case in point writing a song like Million Love Songs as a teenager.

When they came back from their split songs like Patience, The Flood, and Rule The World were as good if not better than their first stint classics like Back For Good.

So what do they do? Change their sound and now I can't remember their last chart success or good song.

I'm loving this because it's flipping between my boybands and my mum's, she loves the Osmonds and the Monkees 😂
