Rave on everyone!
Thank you! My first thread title, it’ll be interesting to see if there’s any book by the end of this thread 😂

Minor recap of the last thread - Still no book despite selling it again, he’s blocking people at random in case they’re Tattlers, the house is for sale, a Ferrari was procured, it turned out Rich got weight loss surgery a couple of years ago and he went to a ‘rave’ with Lisa at the weekend.

Hello, long term lurker here. Don’t follow the bloke and randomly came across this thread a few months back. Keep up the good work guys.

Just wanted to add my two Penneth to the HCA having a snippet in his book. Firstly she isn’t a nurse and therefore not bound to a code of conduct however, if she has legit messaged him thought IG first, that is a massive breach of patient confidentiality - it appears from the screenshots that she has reached out to him which is absolute madness. Any legitimate contribution would have to be through the trust Caldicott Guardian to be authorised and any words would be written formally and anonymised, not via personal IG to his IG.

When’s the NGH appt? Is it this week?
On the 12th august he posted he had an appointment with his oncologist next week so I would’ve presumed as that was a Saturday it should’ve been last week. He probably didn’t go to save his energy for the rave he was so desperate to get to

So effectively someone can report this person then.

I still don't believe the HCA reached out to him, the wording is too close to his exaggerated description of what happened. If and it's a big if they did connect then I think he would have sent her the script.
Seriously, have any of us ever remembered anyone other than the doctor treating us and/or maybe a specialist cancer nurse. You might say....that person that brought us tea was so lovely but would you remember their name.
The whole advert for selling the house is weird as fck too as others pointed out as it looks like an AirBnB.
Rich you're looking well mate!
How many days to Chrimbo?

He probably read on here that it was odd he would have an appointment at the hospital when he is having no more treatment so decided to not share the contents of the fabricated appointment

But Rich is the bestest patient she’s ever had! A leader of men who at the sound of a scream from his wife, everyone in a 5-mile radius dissolves into tears!

Seriously though, I hope this is one of the things he’s lying about because if not, she’s collateral damage in his quest to shut Tattle up and portray this image that he casts an endearing spell over everyone he meets.

The book is literal fiction so I hope her contact to him is too. If not then she must be pretty naive.

I feel like the appt was real and he got a clean bill of health. Also since he went to the hospital why didn’t they take the picc line out (it’s not a specialist procedure, just takes someone to literally pull it out). Come on sheep, someone ask him how it went lol.

I am lucky enough to never have had to be on the receiving end of a health professional telling me I have cancer, but I was there for both my brother and a grandparent and I have to say if anyone, nurse, HCA or consultant had dissolved into puddles of tears or shown any distress I would not have been happy. How incredibly unprofessional that would be, nevermind adding to the inevitable fear and worry of the patient and family. How dare he undermine these incredibly hard working people to fuel this narrative he's peddling. He's a disgrace!

Exactly. It would simply never happen. If it ever did, the staff member in question would have been reprimanded for it for the reasons you have stated above; it’s completely unprofessional, unhelpful and inappropriate.

I’m sure that now we’ve mentioned the appointment he’ll feel “well enough” to give us an update 🙄

Now I’m on a roll I’ll add a bit more….

Breaking bad news is a skill which is taught to health professionals (see SPIKES protocol), it’s unusual for emotions apart from compassion, empathy to be shown but can’t be ruled out. They usually remove themselves from the situation when overwhelmed.

Anyway, post diagnostics, it’s very unusual for an oncologist to come to a ward to break the news when they know those curtains aren’t sound proof - the ‘S’ in SPIKES refers to Setting. When something is found there is usually an MDT in the following days which looks at the staging and treatment options. It’s usual for the DR on the ward to say something has been found but rarely do they go into detail as to what this is and they would never give a prognosis. The MDT is held, then the patient is called to an outpatient appointment. If they are still an inpatient, they’ll be taken via porter to the appointment or, if it has to be held on the ward, it will be in a private area.

I’m calling BS on this situation, it simply wouldn’t happen. If it did, lessons need to be learned.

I agree with lessons need to be learned. I was shocked when I was in hospital for gallstones and pancreatitis last November, a woman in her early 70’s was told by a consultant on his morning round that there was nothing left they could do and she burst into tears neither the consultant or jr dr did anything to console her or give her privacy. I remember her words “ I wish you were my husband because I really need a hug right now” they left her and I was wheeled out for a scan as I went past she was sobbing and not even a nurse went to her.
When I got back the curtain was still open and she was alone. Utterly disgusting and I was so shocked. No one seems to care anymore. And the amount of very young girls coming in with gallstones I’m early 20’s was nuts. Meant to be a 6 bedded ward and it was made into an 8 bedded ward so two beds had no curtains or any privacy. 😤😡

I think it very much depends on the clinical setting. For my specialty, the patient comes to clinic on the same day as the MDT and we very often hear patient emotion coming through clinic doors etc. HOWEVER, I still don’t believe anything regarding nurses or doctors crying… why would they? They hear this sort of thing all the time
