Here's one for the historical fiction and/or history non-fiction readers:

Is there any particular historical period you find yourself most returning to? Intentionally or not?

I've just started All His Spies by Stephen Alford, which is a biography of the Elizabethan spymaster Robert Cecil, and it's got me thinking about how many books set in/about the Tudor period I've read, without ever considering myself to have a special interest in the period 😂

Ancient Rome and the Roman Empire is another (much longer!) period I often read about, but I think that stems from coming from the North East, where we have a lot of still present Roman history.
The Tudor period was my thing for a long time until I realised that I knew far too many of the courtiers and so on and thought I should branch out 😂. Also the war of the roses that comes before is so much more interesting 😏

the Russian Revolution is one period im obsessed with. The world wars are a current interest and it turns out I know about them like we all do but also there’s so much I don’t know.
Also had a Roman phase and anything to do with the Royal Family.

I just bloody lovely history books which would be a huge shock to my history teacher from school!!

Main Character Books are running a "gently used" book swap session - I think this is such a lovely idea! Haven't seen it before so don't know if it's common but seems an unusual idea for a bookshop!

After buying the last book in the Cliffehaven series today I now have all 22 books. Just one problem I have absolutely no idea when I am going to read them.

This is a total long shot…

does anyone have a copy of either of the following dawsons creek companion books from the 90s…
‘A Capeside Christmas’
or
‘Dawsons Creek Mysteries Omnibus’

they’d be willing to sell? Or know where I can get them?
