When people say how many books are on their tbr list is that all the books you own or all the books you own that you want to read?
For me it includes all the books I own -either kindle or physical- that I haven’t read. However it excludes books that are part of a series if I haven’t got the whole series (series I am slowly buying up are a different part of the spreadsheet)
So today on the 99p deals I bought The Hallmarked Man but haven’t added it to my tbr because I’ve still got 4 of the 8 Strike books to buy.
I also bought Katabasis, I’ve already got it as a physical book but I’m much more likely to read it on kindle, I haven’t added it to my tbr as it’s already on there as a physical book.
I also bought The List of Suspicious Things and Releasing 10 which went straight on my tbr. (I’ve read the first 4 Boys of Tommen so don’t need to ‘collect the series’)
and then I bought ‘Fearless’ by Lauren Roberts, I’ve now got the whole Powerless trilogy I was collecting so I’ve had to add all 3 to my tbr.
So I’ve bought 5 today, all on my kindle wish list, all at 99p (with the exception of The List of Suspicious Things) and added 5 to my tbr but they‘re not all the 5 that I bought.
If you got through all that without yawning I applaud you! Perhaps I should rename myself to BoringColouredBowels.
On a different note, does anyone have the same issue with book series that I do? If a series takes my fancy I’ll wait (sometimes years) and slowly buy all the books up on 99p deals and then read them all as I don’t want to read the first book, become hooked and then have to spend £5-£8 on subsequent ebooks because I want to read them straight away and they’re not on offer. However, if the first book is a bit crap (Atlas 6) I’m then stuck with all the rest of the series as I’ve waited until I’ve bought them all cheaply.
