Impressive! I’ve had a couple of times when my daily streak has been broken when I don’t think it should have been (no idea what happened on 5th September, I’m sure I’d have read something on that day!), plus I’m a one book at a time reader so if I do pick up a physical book rather than my Kindle it’s hard to keep a daily streak going.

I am on a bit of a mission to keep that weekly one up though. Aiming for 500!! 😂
Wow, is that six years? Definitely worth making it to 500 if you can!

(The daily has been a bit of a chore, but I've got the kindle app on my phone which is how I've been able to keep up with it)

I finished Under Your Spell. Loved it!!! I’ve now started Rewitched as I spent my plus points yesterday. It’s so pretty with the Waterstones sprayed pages
I read Rewitched the other day and I loved it so much! I am not in the UK so I can't get the sprayed edges version but I will just look at it longingly while I scroll instagram haha. Hope you enjoy it

I hadn’t actually done the maths but yes it is. Now you’ve got me thinking that I need to up that target to 520 instead of 500 to make it 10 years! 🤔

admit i don't really understand these.. if it's just communal reading in silence doesn't that happen in public anyway? I once had the gloriously lovely experience of being in a tube carriage where everyone was reading.... books , e readers, newspapers etc in an age where everyones looking at their phone like a zombie it was beautiful. There must have been about 15 or 20 of us in there from all ages and types
The thing I saw recently but don’t understand the appeal of was -
People paying for a pattern subscription to take part in online ‘reading sprints’. Makes me think of silent reading time at primary school.

Has anyone read The God of the Woods by Liz Moore? I’m about to pick it up next. It’s been quite hyped online so I hope it lives up to my expectations! I liked Long Bright River by the same author.

You should! What's a few more months after nine and a half years ;)

I've got so many Christmas books that I need to read.
Me too! I've got lots still from last year I never got through as I downloaded way too many! I'm holding off till Oct 1st then I think it's acceptable to starting reading Christmas books :)

My streak broke yesterday 😭 so I’ve started doing the changing the date trick 😂 maybe it’s cheating but for some reason my phone doesn’t always register that I’ve been reading 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm reading "The House We Grew Up In" by Lisa Jewell, it's a bit of a slow burner but totally engrossing.
The mother of the family is a maddening character, I think the last character I despised so thoroughly was Delores Umbridge !

I always think that you're only ever really competing against yourself with things like this, so as long as it counts for you, it counts! (also goes for audiobook reading which some people say doesn't count as reading, but does for me)

(I'm sure I've fallen victim to Amazon failing to pick up that I'd been reading in previous streaks, too!)

As soon as I have read the Kew Garden Girls series by Posy Lovell I am going to start reading my Christmas books and at the moment I plan to read the following:
Winter Fires at Mill Grange by Jenny Kane
Christmas with the Engine Girls by Daisy Styles
I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day by Milly Johnson
A Mother's Christmas Wish by Glenda Young
I'm sure I will be reading more Christmas books but at the moment these are the ones that I want to read first.

I read this when I was on holiday & completely agree, it was so engrossing. It was my first Lisa Jewell but certainly won't be my last.

I finished Pet Sematary and I did find it gripping and creepy but duck me, people in SK novels make stupid decisions - especially Louis in this one.
ok I get that he goes mental with grief, but even he didn’t think it was a great idea to resurrect his dead son but off he went with his shovel. Then he’s inexplicably aged overnight and decides third time lucky with his dead wife. Even Jud who is the best character IMO makes absolutely appalling decisions - none of them think it’s a good idea to raise the dead, they all talk about it continuously and how it’s not a good idea but does that stop them? Does it duck. Like comeeeee on.

I have The Shining as the next SK novel on my tbr pile but I think I’m definitely going to read What a way to go this weekend by Bella Mackie as (what I hope) will be a light fun read. I actually really enjoyed HTKYF (great fun rather than great art) when I read it a couple of years ago.

I’m planning to start the new Bella this weekend too, this week has been about 3 weeks so I need something fun!
I’m just coming to the end of Rewitched which has been the perfect read for ending 12hr days of using my brain 🥱

I’ve not read Pet Semetary. I really should but I’ve always avoided dead dogs in books so I skipped that one and Cujo.

I should get Rewitched finished this weekend too and also The Magpie on Kindle. I’m enjoying both but there’s a TW of infertility for The Magpie.

I would’ve read Rewitched faster but I’m scared to damage the pretty pages 😂

I’ve only ever read 11.22.63 by Stephen King and I really fancy giving some of his “classic” books a go so interested to know if people have any other recommendations?

The Shining always makes me think of Joey from Friends putting it in the freezer when it gets too scary! Good to know that’s an option if they’re a bit too much! 😂
