So maybe I’m overthinking things but I’m awake with the baby so why not

But do you ever read through this thread and think… do all these boddlers definitely exist? What if someone’s just trolling us and they've invented a child. They could have a whole different name even
My biggest fear is you’re all on another thread somewhere talking about what an idiot I am 😫😫 never even thought you could all be conning me. New fear unlocked.

Hope everybody had a lovely boddler filled weekend even with illnesses
What did you all do? I might want to steal some ideas
On Saturday Boddler O permitted me to enjoy a hot breakfast from McDonalds (on the condition that she had one too). You’ll all understand what a treat that was, what with the Parent Breakfast Ban and all.

We then had a lazy day. Boddler O played with her toys and I binge watched some Greys Anatomy - finally managed to override the setting on my TV that forced it to play CBeebies on an endless loop for the next 18 years.

Today we had family visit and I was allowed outside on a walk. Had to get special permission from the Fun Council to unshackle myself from the dirty washing pile for a while but it was nice to feel sunlight on my face after a year spent under house arrest.

Obviously tomorrow will be business as usual. A day of just weeping and screaming.

Hope everyone else had a lovely weekend 🥰

Baby O does this face when she’s excited where she scrunches her nose up and shows you her hippo teeth ❤

ETA: my actual favourite thing is being her safe space ❤

The KW is KW-ing hard today. He said he’s be out 45 mins at the gym, came back after 90 mins then said I’m going to have a bath to relax my muscles 😳. I wish I had such luxury to have a bath in the middle of the afternoon. I have now given him the baby to put to bed (he somehow always misses bed time due to X Y and Z so I’m on the Lidl car park about to raid the bakery then sit and scoff in the car in peace. WHOS THE KW NOW 🤣🤣🤣

I miss the days I could lie the baby on the floor leave the room for a biscuit and he’d be in the same place when I came back. I’m not ready for the toddling stage

Not boddler related, just came here to say a fellow mum friend of mine with a noddles around the same age said this to me the other day - “ you’re looking a bit round, are you… pregnant?”

I responded really cool at the time and was like no, just have a baggy thick jumper on etc.. got in the car to go home and decided she was actually totally rude and insensitive (as I could be trying).

I think she can get in the bin now 🤷🏽‍♀️🥡🤦‍♀️

Have I found my people?

I'm currently on toddler hell with my 2 year old. He's a challenge 😂

Today I was changing his poopy nappy, he decided to pull it from under himself and whacked himself in his face with his own poo, covering himself in the process. He's my 3rd child and he's the only one to succeed at that.

I'm getting such mad mum guilt watching small sir play by himself when I'm working. I know it's needs must and tbh, if he's playing by his own he doesn't mind because he soon lets you know if he wants attention and that is the majority of the time. But those brief windows, sat watching him alone makes me feel so bad. It is good I know that he learns independent play and it's not like I ignore him if he comes up, but like actively playing with him isn't as much as I'd like and it's so sad. Feel such a shit.

And no fuck off I'm not having another before any of you nuggets suggests it ;) 😂

Lovely question to ask though - it’s been nice reading about everyone else’s weekends ☺ Me and the KW were talking about this earlier actually - it’s lovely having kids at the weekend. We were talking about our life pre-kids and our weekends just seemed so empty by comparison. How much time we wasted lazing about in bed, or just sat in a cafe. Now we get out and see things, meet friends, get some fresh air

I firmly believe toys for babies and young toddlers are a con. They don’t hold their attention well, because they are so closed ended. So people end up with a house full of toys that rarely get played with, and then they think they need more because their child is bored of what they have. And companies like fisher price plaster their toys with buzz words about education and skills building but it’s all rubbish! like when a toy for a 6 month old teaches them the ABC 🫠🫠🫠
I agree with this. I've been having immense mum guilt recently thinking am I helping his development enough, do I do this, do I do that, am I a bad person for not taking him to sensory groups, or the park, or the beach etc. But realistically, he fucking hates the cold so would hate the park and beach right now and a depressed, anxious mum at a sensory group wouldn't serve him. He has a million toys and tbh all I feel is ashamed for being so consumeristic when there's children out there with nothing. In reality, he's happy with his comforters, a wooden spoon, fiddling with all the door knobs, flipping book pages, throwing shoes about, singing songs, pulling zippers, feeling different things around the house and generally just cuddling and chatting with his mama and dada.

I sound like a hippy cunt but honestly my new mantra is life is sensory, because it is. Love, human interaction and being allowed to explore the world is all they need. Fisher Price can suck it.

That being said, he does love those fucking eggs 😂 and stacking cups tbh, simple stuff.

KW in bed full of a "cold" not the one the kids have had for 2 weeks. He's naturally got a special kind of cold, dossed up on night nurse. Who's the dickhead awake with the kids again? Like I have been every night for 3 weeks? One baby, I don't mind. But when there's two screaming babies to settle, an extra pair of hands would be nice. Every day recently we've started our day at 5am. I'm managing 2 hours a night. I'm beyond exhausted.

Oh, I'm also coming down with what ever illness seems to be lingering in the house, but will I get to neck a bottle of night nurse tomorrow? Of course not, someone's gotta get up with the kids 🙄

Also, hi! Long time no see! All is pretty well here. Kitten had chickenpox, but fortunately didn't have too many issues, got through it like a champ.
Hope you're all well!

Next time you need to shop somewhere that does click and collect. Tell KW you’re doing a shop. Collect the shopping, then sit in the car park with a book for an hour 🙃
