I really would like to know what dress size she is now.
I know she’s pretty good at her angles but she honestly looks to be approaching - if not already in - midsize territory. And we all know the FA movement isn’t massively keen on midsized people who say they’re fat/plus sized.

Her friends seem very private school privileged types, you can just tell by the food they serve up and restaurants they go to they’re not short of a few bob. Nice to just be able to spend your time swanning about, writing when the mood strikes and doing crafts.

melly has a private account on twitter now - i won't post her @ but she is and has always been one of the most genuine and loyal people i know. she is mutuals with bethany but nowhere near as close as they used to be; possibly for "reasons" but also possibly just standard friendship drift. i'm glad to see melly getting love on here

Aww I always loved her on Twitter when she had a public account. She was very outspoken about social mobility, Berthany’s upbringing and privilege is hard to ignore so could see why they wouldn’t be close

To be fair, she probably works a lot harder than she admits. She has two novels out, and that isn't easy. She is trying to be a cool girl by pretending to be lazy, I think. I have to say I find her a lot less annoying than Callie Thorpe. At least Bethany writes proper English and has an actual job.

I went to UCL and I came across a few people like Bethany. They act as if they barely did anything at uni but will come out with good grades and summer internships. She is obviously pretending to be all laissez faire, it pisses me off.

I actually feel sorry for her because her peers are gonna kick off at her any day now and it’s sad it’s over something that she clearly loves and is clearly doing her good on multiple levels.

Sorry but her biggest olive ever last night is more plus size than her. (But maybe equally green in that outfit!)

I actually worry that people who follow her, buy her books, listen to her and relate to her being fat but going running, having a husband, great wardrobe, cool social life, all the stuff women are told you cannot have if you are fat are not only feeling gaslit, but those who have eating disorders, mental health issues around body image and felt a solidarity in her unapologetic self may be really spiralling.

She didn’t just lose weight and contextualise it. She lost so much weight so fast a few people here wondered if she was ok eating disorder wise but then now its so much so fast, either she does the Insta bite of all that food ordered for shots or she’s using some kind of help.Whether it’s Ozempic or getting diagnosed with ADHD and the impact of meds, she cannot fat is all the amazing stuff she did and then make no reference to so much weight loss except constantly posting numbers about her classes, step count etc.

Stats were one of the good changes bopo and fat acceptance brought in. Don’t comparable data when you don’t show all the workings out and when you don’t know know what way people feel. And don’t ask them to buy another bloody book about fat but fit gal and yer pal takes on the world. The audacity.

I had an eating disorder and it’s starting to be uncomfortable for me and I never looked up to her in that way. It’s like a friend letting you pick up the bill when they leave their job only to find they actually got a big pay off…

I’m being bitchy here but I don’t think she’s as big an advocate as she has seemed in the past - just say something ! People would respect you so much more if you said something - she’s not as famous as her but Rebel Wilson say - she was just honest and I don’t think I’ve seen * that * much back lash. Just know your audience, say how incredibly lucky you are to also not work a 9-5, can seemingly eat all this food just cos of exercise AND look aesthetically and culturally pleasing AND that you still advocate for fat people but alas are not fat anymore. Sorry I’m spitballing, I’m part jealous part angry

I can’t get my head around the amount of exercise plus size influencers claim to do. If really running or doing so many spin classes what are they eating to stay so big?

It truly all comes down to your genetics and metabolism. Some people can do cardio every day, eat a normal amount of calories and still be plus size. Fatphobia comes down to people not accepting that this is a reality for many people, and this assumption that they must be eating 5000 calories a day because they're fat and exercise isn't making them thin.

I don't believe it for one second, as I don't believe she's really happy with her body. She's so bitter.

Bethany’s news today is that she has received the proof of the year, the new SallyRooney book. She’s so smug about these things, she really did just fall into the writing world without even trying to or caring and that grinds my gears.You can tell from the podcast that Alice does the heavy lifting, BR hasnt a clue.

It’s very disturbing that she’s posting all these cheerful insta stories at the moment when she must have heard about this. They were pretty good friends and tweeted each other all the time, and were flatmates for ages. Of course you can’t know what she’s feeling about the situation but why not just post nothing?
