I actually don’t know much about her but how is her life just ‘trotting’ from one expensive gym class to another, buying clothes, getting takeaways and writing her new book? Has she made that much money off her old books/social media? Is she from a mega rich family?

Yes. Her dad is an agent to film and TV performers and I believe from inherited wealth too. Her husband’s family are loaded. She is astoundingly rich. The kind of rich that knows how to just skirt over the exact numbers so if you aren’t you won’t clock it immediately.
It’s not that hidden though: she basically doesn’t work, the parents bought the house, she can only eat eggs from hens called Gertrude and notice her gym do not give sponsorship or influencer perks and their membership starts about £150 a month.

She is hoping her Vinted habit, bus trips and love of Greggs hid the trust fund baby truth.

Yeah I don't get it either. In central London too! Her books don't seem like huge bestsellers and I can't imagine she gets big advances. Her husband is an "artist" and theatre usher (I think?) so not a highly paid job either.

Just read the synopsis and it basically seems like 'Woman leaves long-term relationship to find herself' which is a bit of a cliche and unoriginal but then it goes on 'How will she find herself you ask? By going on loads of dates and the ultimate goal is to find love'. Ah...

So, a journey of self discovery still deeply entrenched in desirability and relationships. Right.

Sounds like cut price Marian Keyes with added fat positivity. Might be okay I suppose but I'm surprised there's much of a market for her books.

I wonder if she had some kind of health scare which made her do something? Because she seems to have lost so much weight so quickly.

I also think she is slightly hypocritical given that she’s done the whole “fuck flattering” thing (quite rightly - why should plus-size people have to disguise or choose “flattering” clothes to hide themselves away).

She constantly does the pouty face and chooses a certain camera angle at all times which does make her appear slimmer - rarely a proper full “front on” image.

I don’t mind, I’m sure it’s all good natured (lol, not sure!) Just wanted to give another perspective.

it’s £170, takes about an hour, they sometime damp it mid way and then dry it, and totally worth the schlep to Chelsea for me. My hair isn’t as short as my good dude Bert though, I’ve got an Italian Bob (the guys have awhile load of different cuts/inspiration on their website, and during covid, they produced a booklet with loads of tips and tricks in to raise money for charity. Yes, I have drunk the kool-aid!)

I quite like Bethany 90% of the time. I do sometimes wonder if she knows you can go for a run without posting about it...

Her little pouty selfies also make her face look very punchable. As in, I don’t really want to punch her(!) but if you had a bad day and her face was on a pillow I feel like it would be therapeutic to punch it. It’s the pout. It’s smug.

Bethany’s news today is that she has received the proof of the year, the new SallyRooney book. She’s so smug about these things, she really did just fall into the writing world without even trying to or caring and that grinds my gears.You can tell from the podcast that Alice does the heavy lifting, BR hasnt a clue.

I find the posts where she just casually drops these things in so abrasive. Thinly veiled bragging.
