Post leveson even if they have the photos of individual in his pants on the sofa (of which I’m a bit doubtful) is this public interest?

I’ve being reading about how low on funds the Murdoch press are after the Fox News payout and the talk tv bailout. Would they risk it all on this? I’m not sure. The government want bbc fee gone and will push for an expose, but I think they might hold off.

Are you a parent? Putting this situation to one side, I would do whatever it took to prevent my child from dying, even if they were 20 or older. Sometimes as parents we make mistakes but most of us do what we think is for the best at the time. I would rather lose my child by them never speaking to me again than by dying of an overdose.

I am very very proud to say I am not narcissistic enough that I would ever sell my child to the vultures that are the gutter press against their express permission. No matter what.

These parents have just ducked up their child far more than any drugs could with the lack of trust that this would have caused. It’s disgusting.

It still could be that everything is true apart from the fact it started when the young person was 17. If they started at 18, especially through a site like OF , then much as people may find it distasteful that a then 58 ish yr old straight married christian was paying to see an 18yr old perform sexual acts, it’s legal and there would be no grounds for an investigation. And probably a more more common than people would like to think

Yeah I agree. Obviously I don’t agree with the doing it behind his wife’s back and stuff. But each to their own. I’m team HE till I’m proved other wise with recipes.

If Huw appears on the 10pm news tonight, it will be the biggest plot twist I've seen today.

But on a serious note though - if its proven that all this is BS, I hope he's doing OK. He's had a lot of issues regarding depression in his life.

Imagine if Huw was on the 10pm news and he was reporting on the scandal! That would be David Lynch-level weirdness.

It's still very intriguing that there was a connection/relationship between HE and the 20 year old, whether it was, as is now claimed by the 20 year old, not inappropriate or illegal.

i thought this too. I’ve heard a number of stories from people who have said that the police/court/media process was more devastating than anything they went through before, and how they wish none of it had ever come out. They wanted the situation to stop, but for the authorities to have never been involved. Their involvement made things worse. Not just SA, but DV, child abuse situations etc.

To be fair the news said there had been a recent development. They might have been preparing to say the name.

The Sun have an agenda against the BBC, instead of this actually being a story about the welfare of an individual, they've whipped up a frenzy.

I don't doubt seedy things go on in our institutions but to run this story and potentially do a 360 is disgusting. They need to put up or shut up. And as I feared it has become politicised and people are using this as an excuse to bash the licence fee and do the Tories bidding.

I’m hoping I am wrong but I still believe whatever presenter it is, has done something inappropriate, maybe the sun will have evidence who knows, can’t see why the accused would say now it was all rit and not in May when initial complaint went into the BBC.. Let’s hoping we get actual evidence
