I had an exchange with Gethin in my teens (18 I think) in a Cardiff nightclub.. can confirm there may be signs of closet dwelling. Oddly Robbie Savage was also there and tried to get me to go home with him

My husband has just come back from our local pub falling over himself with excitement to tell me that the barmaids friend who is gay and in his 20’s “met up” and had a “thing” with HE a couple of years ago. The friend is local to us and my husband knows of him but doesn’t know him personally. Obviously I’m aware that it’s a friends, aunties dogs, cousin type of story and could well just be gossip. He’s putting the kids to bed atm but I’m contemplating telling him to go back to the pub to get more info!

"The BBC admitted it had not spoken to the young person itself, and does not even know who they are".

Sorry, I'm DEAD.

That quote is from The Sun article - they're claiming the Mum called the BBC and demanded they stop "Person X" making payments to her child but she didn't actually mention who her child was? It's being claimed that a dossier of evidence has been handed to the BBC but nothing that includes the identity of the person who is the victim? So they're supposed to just suspend then discipline a leading member of their staff based on a single phone call, with no identifying information or being given the opportunity to speak to the person themselves?

Sorry, but declining to give that information makes me very suspicious of the parents motives now. It reeks of "you don't need to speak to them, I'm telling you what happened".

More gender neutral language in the quote, btw.

He was still wearing a wedding ring, although that could just be to keep up appearances

Apparently, OF has a fairly stringent verification process to prevent people setting up accounts with pictures of someone else, or with AI imagery or, yes, with under 18s.

If it is OF, then the likelihood is that the young person was verified as over 18 at the time. This would explain the 'satisfied that nothing illegal has taken place' statement. It may also be that when the young person said that the story was 'rubbish' they meant the part about being 17 at the time. They may well have been selling images and the accused presenter may have been among those buying them.

If that is the case, then the thing about being 17 probably came from the parent, either mistakenly or deliberately, in an effort to make it the more scandalous and get more money. I'm not saying that it would have been smart to do so, but then going to the press was not smart either.

For me there’s two issues here.
Firstly there’s the legal grey murkey area of nudes when someone is between 16-18. The law is clear that the nudes are illegal, though in practice this isn’t enforced due to the slightly contradictory nature of this alongside the 16 years old age of consent.

Secondly there’s the moral and ethics standpoint. BBC anchors are funded by taxpayers and with that comes in my view higher behaviour standards to adhere to. Paying money to a drug addicted teenager/young adult for sex pics with public money is a bad look. This wouldn’t be as bad if the person was older and matured.

My cousin used to rent a room from him. Left because of his house guests
