Not necessarily a pay off. Young people can consent to selling sexual services and live comfortably with their decision.

My feeling is mutually consensual relationship with financial element whether sugar daddy/ OF/ findom or subsequent blackmail (fuelled by potential desperation and drug habit).

Either way the accused has betrayed his family and like PS will never work in the public eye again.

Well said. Huw Edwards has literally been branded a paedophile by multiple people on tattle. With absolutely zero evidence. Shameful. They probably still believe it, too.

Wonder if there will be any consequences for £35k undeclared income down the line for the young person

There’s never any normal, boring news any more is there?? It’s always horrific or absolute chaos

So just to confirm, HE usually presents the 2200 news Mon-Thurs? Did he present last Mon? So by that timetable he should be presenting it tonight?

Nah, the kid's been paid off by HE. BBC reporter pretty much saying he had very expensive lawyers.
Exactly -where has the young person got the money to pay a top notch lawyer. Also why isn’t HE not shouting from the rooftops he did nothing wrong. Murky or what.

It is evident they still believe it. Despite an absence of any evidence beyond an age-gap. And that age-gap is filled with all sorts of assumptions and paranoias and outrage.

Nothing more reliable than the word of a teen crack addict, who has been selling pics of their genitals, and is no doubt under huge pressure from HE's lawyers.
Although the only person who says the young person is a crack addict is the mother.

A responsible lawyer would (I hope) be certain of their client’s mental capacity?

(Not disagreeing with you though, just another thought)

Let’s just say that Huw hasn’t paid anyone off and this whole thing is just a fabrication stirred up by a troubled mother… Can you imagine how awful a situation Huw is in now? Career potentially ruined, dignity lost, relationship with his wife and children ruined. It doesn’t bear thinking about.

I know someone who did exactly this. Revealed an overheard awful family secret, then when the shit hit the fan, backtracked /was made to backtrack for the 'good of everyone else'.

Alright, the HMRC
I think “gifts” within a “loving” relationship (if it could ever be classed as such ) are tax free unless the person dies within a certain period of time

I think it’s gifts which help the relationship so a sugar daddy gifting a girlfriend money for nails and upkeep of appearance for example

Pro Bono. Imagine the pay out from the Sun if they published without proper proof or investigation,
The Sun have got a lot of lawyers, would be surprised if they hadn't legalled it to death before printing.
This is carnage.
