Is there a Chocolatesmiths thread on here? They're taking the piss now. From Friday I think it is, they'll be sticking unlimited chocolate on their website. So if you want some of their overpriced shite, you'll get it. Only catch is you'll be waiting until March/April for it to be dispatched. And charged a £2 premium to cover the cost of their wrapping machine

I think one needs making. I asked a bit ago cuz she does my nut in beg beg beg. Can no one see it? Overpriced shit and they’re begging to get the wrapping machine and moving house? It’s all suspect

I don’t really know George’s bakery but I just had a look on his page out of weight loss curiosity and I can’t believe how much stuff he has on his market stalls! So many full cakes as well as all the tray bakes etc - must take bloody ages to make!

He has quite a few people working for him now.

He does work hard in all fairness.
He only ever has once a year off in January. Other than that he's up at like 3am for markets and everything

Has everyone seen the binky felstead uproar?? The cake maker angesdesucre is bloody annoying!! She’s loving all this attention. She’s so passive aggressive to everyone. Another baker put one of her cakes in an online group and slated it, rightly so in my opinion as it was shitly made, and she went nuts putting it all over her socials. From counter suing someone about her cake sandwiches to charging an absolute fortune for cakes in a can. She deserves her own thread imo!!!

Knowing how Get Baked works, he’s probably already working on a way to ship the pies nationwide and as he says, my money is better in his pocket when this happens

Wow I've just read the Trustpilot reviews. But what were people thinking, ordering baked items with such a long lead time to get them?

That’s what I have been confused about. Ordering cookies and brownies 3-6 months in advance is so strange.

I totally agree! I think unfortunately he’s getting too big for his boots. People are getting fed up of not being able to order a slice of Bruce yet he can listen to all these crazy different flavours? What made him different was it was a simple concept. Now he’s never there and on holiday all the time the novelty will wear off. Plus he was doing a fast food outlet that never materialised. It seems his ADHD (or whatever his excuse is for being rude) is his personality now and gets far too excited when a z lister tags him

I went to the store a few weeks ago around 1pm and they had plenty of Bruce left so thought the online scarcity thing was funny.

I didn't buy it as I thought it's too big and rich for me. I got the Bruce pudding which was nice, cookies were nothing special, brownies were decent, and the Bruce balls meh. Won't be rushing back but if I was local I might pop in for the odd item

What's the difference between Bert and Bertha? I've seen they do smaller sizes now, I might pick one up

Bertha is the original so 24 layers, Bert is 2/3 of the size and 2/3 of the price, so 16 layers and £13 I think. They’re bringing a Tiramisu Bert out on Monday and I am breaking my diet for that

Has anyone tried Get Baked in Leeds? I follow on insta but have yet to try. The stuff is pricey but looks amazing. The owner has quite an offensive sense of humour which I personally don’t mind! Just wondered if anyone can confirm whether their bakes taste as good as they look?

Bruce is worth the money. The balls and the jar of bruce was dry as fuck. I’d like to try the pies but I live an hour away

It’s a joke that they are “fund raising” for their new wrapping machine. As a business they should fund it themselves. They aren’t a small business anymore-like Finch, they have multiple employees.

Seems like a publicity stunt.
I get it too, but if you're going to put your designs and ideas out there with no protection then be ready for others to cash in on it.
The Bruce cake will always remind me of Becki Jones demolishing a slice after warming it up in the microwave

Are the chocolate smiths less popular than they used to be or have the owners wound down?

I remember they even had a brick and mortar shop years back. Now i look at the website and there's no xmas calendars or special items.

They were definitely popular like two years ago but I’ve not really heard much about them since the only thing I heard was apparently she was fundraising for like a new mixer or something

Only other postal I’ve had that I’d recommend would be blondie brownie but I think they are shut over the holiday period
