i cant believe how last minute she is with packing, to say she is super organised with spreadsheets for budgeting/organisation and it was a long multi destination hand luggage only it stressed me out how laid back she was with it all and 20 minutes before she had to leave was just chucking all her loose wires in!
Her latest blog, does it annoy anyone else she is complaining about WiFi speed? You buy a cheap coffee in a cafe, they do not owe you great WiFi

I don’t understand why she’d uploaded 2 videos in one day. She didn’t post for a month and has now uploaded 3 videos in quick succession. Why doesn’t she plan them out more and space them out so there’s never a gap

Well, she’s turned going on holiday into a full-time paying job. I’d be pretty happy if I’d achieved that. It may not be paying enough to buy an unrealistically large house in one of England’s most expensive commuter areas or a two-bedroom flat in Zone 1 - she has less than no idea at all when it comes to property prices - but it pays enough for her to spend more than half her life on holiday.
Well at the moment, she’s on her way home from “holiday” and it’s not paying her enough to buy anything! “Going on holiday” is not an achievement in and of itself.
I think a lot of these travel bloggers are going to become a bit unstuck, even now with the vaccines I don’t think free movement will really come back for years. Countries will continue to open up and close again and people who are travel around a lot will start finding it more difficult to get visas IMO, things will be booked then cancelled… I would be pretty worried if this was my career
I’d love to be able to have her job. My plan was to quit my job and travel for a year but because of covid I’m staying and buying a house instead. I cannot stop thinking I’m missing out by not traveling but when will covid end I just don’t think it’s possible to travel how I’d want. I’m pretty sure she also does freelance work? So it’s not like traveling is her only job.
Managing to make yourself a job that's 99% leisure is pretty good going. It's no Nobel Prize, it's not going to get your name in history as one of the 100 Greatest People Who've Ever Existed and it's probably not something your grandparents are going to proudly flaunt to their neighbours but I'd be pretty pleased with myself if my job was doing handstands on the beach by day and drinking cocktails by night and taking lots of photos of myself in a bikini.
I'm not all praise - I think her videos are more interesting when she's trying to achieve something. I keep going on about this Divemaster qualification she was working on but I'd really like to see her finish that. I'm not delighted with the way she's prancing around the world as if there isn't a killer virus being spread by international travel. I think she needs to downgrade her expectations on what property she can buy where. I don't know how long this is sustainable as a career, between the social media bubble and the ongoing travel restrictions and virus mutations. I think her hair looks far prettier when it's dark than when she's attempting to make it semi-blonde and I hate those big round plastic glasses, not that either of those opinions are any of my business.
But I think it's ok if her only achievement by her late twenties is a job where she gets to swan around the world and not do anything in particular. Out of interest, what do you think she should have achieved by now?
I think saying she hasn't achieved much is a bit of a hyperbole. She's making a living, doing travel which is what she aimed to do. And for that, good on her. Okay, yes I don't get the whole buying in London when she's probably going to be away more often then not (though I'm guessing she's air bnb'ing as another form of income). If buying is so important to her, and she's away so much, I don't know why she doesn't buy closer to a northern airport. But still, I think she's pretty successful for the life she wanted for herself.
When she’s complaining about travel costs…. You’re not a skint back packer! You can afford these PCR tests! Like this is the risk you run when you go away now! I don’t get how thick you can be to think this wouldn’t happen?
