Baby Names

The thing is taste is so subjective. There is a great book by Grayson Perry about class and taste. It was made into a 3 part documentary.
I adore Grayson Perry. Anyway names are interesting and I do wonder if social confines dictate what we like 🤷or do we choose baby names purely because of the sound or is it down to connotations/meaning?

Oh I like Astrid ♥
I also love Skylar for a girl. Probably a bit left field for many but I love the connotations and it's unusual.
I also love the name Autumn for a girl.
Maybe I like nature names.

I like Osian for a boy.

My name is quite common so maybe I'm trying to be a little unique.

I have a Remy Lucia - lots of people always comment about how pretty and unusual it is as a name. Also like Scarlett or Madison.

I have a Zachary, was the 5th or 6th choice but when he was born it was the only name that suited, No.1 choice was Jeremy after Jeremy Guscott but he was the most unjeremy looking baby ever. Girls names were Pilar, India and Jemima. If I was choosing names now I'd probably still go with Zac, Isaac or Noah but the only girls name still in the running would be Jemima from my original list. Bonnie, Nancy, Stella are lovely too

I suppose a lot of it rests on what the surname is too. I knew a woman called Christine and she took her husband’s name when they married. His surname was Cross so she unfortunately ended up as “Chris Cross”.

I always loved the name Naomi ever since hearing Ralph McTell's beautiful song of the same name many years ago (it's on YouTube if you've never heard it) I didn't use it for my daughter though as there were already one or two locally. I also like Nora and Nell for girls and Niall for a boy
