I suppose a lot of it rests on what the surname is too. I knew a woman called Christine and she took her husband’s name when they married. His surname was Cross so she unfortunately ended up as “Chris Cross”.

We're trying TTC but unlikely to happen quickly due to my health....I've spent so long looking at names.
I've decided on Saskia for a girl and Elijah for a boy.
My husband doesn't like either of them

My brother is called Gerard. My mum had a bad pregnancy and my Nan prayed to St Gerard. St Gerard is patron saint of expectant mothers

I find out the sex of my baby on Monday- Iv got girls name sorted but struggling for boys. Iv always loved Michael but I hate the abbreviations- Mike, or mick! So I’m realllt struggling

Helpful thread! Currently pregnant, haven't found out gender and picked out faves for a girl and boy that we both like. One of my good friends just told us her baby boy due in March will be called our top choice so back to the drawing board with boys names! Already find them so hard whereas if she had nabbed the girls, I had a back up haha! Find names hard as I'm a teacher so seen a lot of children who I'd never want my child to be names the same as
My tops for boys are- Ted, Arthur, Grayson, Max
Girls- Olivia, Poppy, Ivy, Evelyn, Blossom (been told no to this one on no uncertain terms but I it)

Just think of all the people you’ve ever worked with or gone to school withthat you didn’t like. Then don’t give the baby that name.

My friend named her baby Zara which is lovely. But, we knew a Zara who was an absolute bitch and every time I look at the child I think of her It might just be me but, keep it in mind.

Also, try it out with your accent. I’m from Manchester but, don’t have the accent however, some relatives do. When my SIL was pregnant and going through names, some sounded dreadful in a thick Manc accent. So just be mindful for when they are at school etc.

I love the name Siobheal (pronounced shiv-ALE) My SIL is Irish and that's her niece's name. It's the Irish version of Isobel, but you probably need to be living there to use it really. Apparently it's not a very common name even in Ireland.

That’s very pretty. I love Irish names. My friends who’s Irish friend told me that she likes “fiadh” when I asked how to pronounce it she said “it’s “fe-ah”, you just ignore the DH, just added in for shits and giggles”
