I've found I'm feeling rather sensitive about mentioning our ages now my oldest has turned 20. I've been meeting new people recently, and I hate having to mention my kids ages , so I'm quite vague , and I'll just say she's in her teens ,or she's left school now and hope they thinks she's left this year. I feel guilty as if I'm denying her existence a bit, but I hate the comments . Although I offer more information as we get to know each other a bit better.
I don't mind so much if the person making the comment is much older than me as I'm sure I do seem young looking to people 70+.

I was ID'd for lemsip last week. Despite having visible piercings and tattoos and my car keys in my hand, she looked me up and down and still asked for ID. As I handed over my driving licence, I asked what the age restriction was and she said she just needed to make sure I was over 16.
I'm 32. I'm closer to 40 than 16. Luckily I had my licence on me.
My mum says it's a compliment to look young. Young, yes. Like an actual child, is a bit different!
I did also have some gas men knock on the door to ask me if my mum was home, so they could ask her to move the car off the driveway as they would be digging the pavement up. I was like "I don't know if she's at home as she doesn't live here, this is my house and my car, which I can move if you want?"

I think it's rude to comment on what people can't change when it comes to appearance.
Yes this!! Some days it’s actually just bleeping irritating. I can’t just run into the shops for medication when needed or even an energy drink (rare I have one but not the point) without making sure I have some sort of ID on me, which is annoying as all my cards are saved on my phone so I don’t tend to carry a purse with me much. I’ve had car keys in my hand, my son by my side but nothing helps
I know there’s bigger things going on in the world but my god does it bug me some days
I got IDed with my Dad and brother at the pub the other day my brother is 5 years younger and he didnt get IDed. My dad was surprised because he was paying.
I’m just used to it at this point because it happens for meds , energy drinks etc so I always carry it with me at the ripe age of 33. My local shop it doesn't seem to happen as much because the staff usually remember me.
