Rain due on Sat and Sun - thank goodness! But until then 🥵🤬☹
Rain due where I live at the weekend too but still 22° heat, so it will be humid 😭.
I went to Dunelm and the range today to look for a fan sold out 😫 other than the really expensive ones.

I’ve put some socks in the freezer 😂 I’ve read it really helps cool you down. Debating putting my knickers in there 😂

We tried putting towels in the freezer but they stayed cold for the whole of 11 seconds after taking them out.

Then I wet a towel before freezing and it just melted on my pillow after taking it out of the freezer. Waste of time 🤣

I did actually wonder how this would work when I read it. Thanks for confirming it was exactly as I thought 😂

Hopefully, this is the last truly awful night of heat tonight 🙌🏼

Frozen hot water bottle helps a lot! I keep moving it around but on my feet mainly and it's cooling me off. Recommended.

Just went and grabbed the spray bottle as recommended in this thread, sprayed it all over myself and feels amazing! Light mist all over, though need to pay someone to stand over me all night doing it at repeated intervals!

I’ve got two fans going to help me get to sleep and I’m still sweating my bits off. Having a sweaty toddler in the bed with me doesn’t help either.

I was feeling quite nauseous/headachy/exhausted from the heat this past week. The temperature dropped a bit yesterday (hated it), so it certainly helped and I'm feeling much better now. It went back up today and tomorrow is meant to be the last day of this heatwave before the weather takes a turn. Hopefully, we'll get another week or two of this fantastic weather in August or September. I'm really going to miss this warm weather. Ireland is absolutely stunning when the weather is like this. I wish it was this warm all year around (I'm crazy, I know). It's insane how much of an impact good weather can have on one's mood. I'm really going to miss this summer, especially as winter lasts 8/9 months over here.

My suggestion may be rather granny but after a shower, which lately I take twice a day, I dry myself thoroughly and then dust myself liberally with body powder. Having in the past had occasional issues with soreness from sweat rash, I do everything I can to avoid getting it again. My favourite is Cuticura.

It has a pleasant fresh smell and the fact that it is mildly mediated I believe helps keep away the sweat rash (a fungal infection). Obviously personal hygiene is the single most important factor. Sometimes Cuticura is difficult to get hold of, then I fall back on baby powder.

For any one concerned about talc, there are lots of talc free body powders out there, along with information on the net on how to make your own.

Hope this may help at least some.

It is the best fan! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

It sounds like a jet engine taking off but it keeps you cool 😂
100% vouch for this fan too!!
As poster said above it really does make you feel cold after a while I have to turn off as I’m so cold
And yes noisy but it’s so so powerfull and does sound like a plane taking off but I kinda like the noise to fall asleep too after being so tired and hot thorough out the day 👍👍

Just remembered this product, it was reasonably new to the market when I took my family to Florida in the very early naughties. It is not cheap but works well
