I used to really like anna
She was one of the first people I followed and spoke to most days, then it was like a switch had flipped and she suddenly went up her own arse. She’s no longer relatable and every post and story screams I’m privileged but trying to be average mum to relate she’s an insta-Hun in sheep’s clothing!

there comes a point in time where you do need to put past mental health battles in the past, most people will experience some form
Of depression or anxiety in their lifetime but Anna Uses her experiences as if it makes her superior and bleats on and on and on about the same few experiences she has had Like a stuck record , yes pnd and pna is hard, but do you need to still be talking about this 5 years later , Or claiming to be some super guru just because you have had these experiences , many of her followers will have experienced and be experiencing mental health battles far worse than she will ever encounter , she is a trained therapist for Petes sake , use your knowledge and training to work with people who are experiencing significant difficultIes in an ethical way, not exploiting the privalidged worried well! Or try demonstrating some empathy To those in similar situations not forwarding yourself as some super guru. I had this ,i did this , so Do as I did , im
Amazing , love me ! Pay me money!

due to the insta huns wealth and statuses they really do see brief spells of anxiety and depression as massive mental health battles , try really experiencing depression where is cripples your ability to even get up each morning. Having a few intrusive thoughts that make you briefly anxious doesn’t even compare to some peoples battles! It’s such a cool thing to have mental health battles now obviously ! And sells ! Wait for the ..... don’t let other invalidate your experiences , and don’t compare posts !

You can imagine her with all the other insta huns , It’s like a competition to see who’s life has been the worse like it’s worth points , ‘im more relatable than you as I had anxiety and depression , woe is me, and today I cried as life is so overwhelming’ bog off! And her desperation to be pals with g fletcher is sickening , she likes every single one of her posts it’s cringe !

I find it interesting that people are willing to pay anything, never mind £15, to attend her course/webinar. Even if half the people who are attending, pay only £10, she will be taking in at least £10,000 (over 2000 attendees). This is more money than top tier lawyers and public speakers would charge for their billable hours. It is far, far more money than even the most qualified doctors or professors of psychology/psychiatry could or would charge.

I don’t believe her when she says most people have not paid. This will be a ruse to encourage as many people as possible to contribute.

I'd prefer her to sell her courses which could offer real benefit to people, than flog Nivea or Gusto or any of the other ADs we see daily on Instagram from other influencers who also talk motherhood or mental health, build a community and then BAM its #gifted #AD. I just can't get worked up about it.

I honestly don’t understand how such contrived photos and stories about ones personal life can be viewed as ethical in the psychotherapy world.

surely there needs to be boundaries?

She is just too much of a drama queen and makes a mountain of a molehill. Something about her just gets on my nerves

Such a shame as she really did have potential to be 'something' on instagram. It was so refreshing seeing someone use the platform to promote mental health and get people talking. I honestly believe if she had remained authentic, she could have had an amazing career off the back of social media. Like being a guest speaker on this morning etc. It just went to her head unfortunately and she's morphed into yet another insta-hun-mum-bot. Now she will go no further than having other insta-hun-mum-bots (like Cara suthers, hunters and heels etc) telling her she's amazing while she tries to make money from swipe up ads.

It's stealth boasting and she's got to keep her engagement up for the book release. She must be fuming that she can't do book signings to meet other mums and tell them all how superior she is.

Of course privileged people can suffer from anxiety. But that doesn't give them the right to exploit others with their superiority out feeling and understanding. I always wonder why these women don't target women like themselves. But then it's so much harder to exploit rich, white, wealthy, slim women. Less insecurities to feed off. She's a vulture and it's all done under the guise of her being a bona fide hcp.

So what is she? A therapist or just an Instagram influencer?
I don’t know who she is regulated by but her content is so unboundaried and unprofessional. I follow lots of psychology related accounts and most proper therapists are really boundaried, professional, and helpful. If she carries on this way she will be struck off surely?!

So her company has had its first year trading (assume she needed the company for the book deal) and just published its accounts. It's micro accounts so you can't see everything but owes corporation tax of £16,500 - so approximately a profit of £86k. If she also paid herself a salary but avoid NI contributions, which would be £8k, then she earnt £94k last year.

She does grind my gears

- Said she would be taking off Sundays on Instagram - has been on it every Sunday since. Agree with the addict part - we all know ourselves the thrill of someone liking our pictures on facebook, insta or here. Multiply that by a 100k and I can see how it's a powerful drug.
- Pre-covid, mentioned constantly that T never sees the kids during the week due to his job. I understand that, but if you're not happy about it, change the work situation or don't mention it
- Is clueless in my view to a lot of the causes of mental health issues in this country. Therapy and positive thinking aims to fix the symptoms. 3 primary causes are low wages, lack of job security, lack of affordable housing. None of these can be fixed by listening to podcasts / books and clearly she can't relate to those.
- She's a Christian and obviously can't bring that into her work, but basically it means she herself doesn't live by the advice she gives out. Finding your worth, value, meaning, help, purpose from a higher power is very different to finding it purely in yourself.

I assume she is doing more to increase her income because T works in commercial property and there's obviously a very uncertain future there.

Watch her have a meltdown now being overwhelmed with Christine and festivities ahead. Queue a sympathy vote so the followers can fuel her narcissistic desire for adoration and validation. I'm sure there will be a teary eyed meltdown picture with a self care post and completely hiding the fact that she is all sorted and ready for her expensive and privileged Christmas ahead unlike majority of her followers.

I definitely think she has got a personality disorder and she constantly craves self love and adoration from her followers. She needs to be admired and loved to feel better....

She is more of a personal coach than a therapist.
absolutely ! The psychotherapists I know do real work that makes a difference - working with people with severe mental illness in the nhs , they do it for the love of wanting to help others ! And get paid much less than Anna gets! Anna wouldn’t have a clue what it would Be like being a real therapist working with those with psychosis , Anger , women who have been in abusive relationships , personality disorder , high risks , ptsd etc . She goes on and on about her life and struggle - she is talking to an audience who potentially have had serious struggles - childhood abuse etc And sells them positive statements . She just does all this positive psychology life coaching waffle based on herself and gets paid lots ! Talks to a screen not people all day! She has Actually lost any sense of reality and normality I am quite concerned That she calls herself a therapist !

Those mums are the ones that fall through the net and need the help though.. but as basicbasic said, its also then exploiting them 🙃🤦🏻‍♀️ maternal mental health is a field that gets fuck all real attention, its how I slipped through the net and had to beg and beg for help 🙄

And those who cant get help on the nhs 😔 Ive never felt she was relatable to me (she is afterall, a wealthy middle class white woman. Im a working class plastic paddy lol), but i definitely resonated with things she said around PND and having another child (what I went through). I couldnt get help anywhere for all my begging, so these people offer that hope.. and whilst I wouldnt pay her for it, others more desperate would. Which is abit icky really when I think about it
there are much better, more real accounts out there that raise awareness for maternal mental health. Like the ones that actually speak from the heart, don’t try to sell you something, no ads and have more lived experience. The ones that genuinely want to help people out of the goodness of their heart, not because they are making a living off exploiting vulnerable people.
A lot of her posts are just the same message, over and over again. Recycled or just dressed up with different words. It’s boring and you know it’s all bull shit now because all the instahuns are no longer to relatable to most of their sheep.

yes all this and deeply needy. This craving for validation maybe even has shades of narcissism. Whatever it is there’s a lot of smoke and mirrors, I wouldn’t believe a word that comes out of her mouth.
It's an addiction because somewhere else in their life has holes. It's very sad as for some it's how they get through their insecurities maybe. One good thing about Anna is she doesn't share her kids faces. I like that she keeps them private rather than exploits them for supermarket clothing deals, free holidays or dresses them up in the latest Next outfits!
