You went to IVP? How did you find the experience?
Some background information:
I just turned 18 at the time
It was rather recently
The same program and certificate as Anna, IDK if she chose the same duration, I used my summer vacation (6 weeks).
My employer paid 50% since I asked them nicely
"We are expanding on the global scene, and I think this will be very beneficial for the future growth" With associated costs I would probable have to say goodbye to a couple of months worth of salary at that time. (Granted I was part-time with 7 hours per week
)
I found out hosiery is expensive... and fragile...
I loved it, a very enjoyable experience that taught me a lot
Especially being surrounded by others with the same goal in mind. I along with a girl from China was the youngest of the bunch, what I really enjoyed was gaining an understanding of other cultures, history and heritage which you can't get from cultural understanding classes in college. Even though I attended a VERY international College at the time, there wasn't the same diversity in background as in IVP. I really enjoyed the fact that there weren't many from "Western countries", and you very likely had a student from the country discussed in class. Something I found interesting, but understandable is a lot of students from Asia and the middle east grew up with foreign nannies trained at a certain school in Britain and service staff from another European school... So they learned a lot about their own culture and country from the visit to IVP
Or the customs of an average citizen of their country.
BTW My posture improved a ton, and my cooking really went up a notch.
Seconded!
And please elaborate a bit what they taught and what other attendants were like, as well as teachers, I am very curious!
You really learned a lot during your stay, it was INTENSE, they found some really exciting people to teach us.
I've never had a bad experience with anyone else, and everyone seemed very nice. But that is granted when you reach attending IVP. They could be the worst people on earth behind my back.
Cooking, household management, how to hire staff, hosting, communication, personal image and presentation (Anna could actually have stolen this part for her course when I think about it. IVP just went more in-depth), etiquette, historical background, heritage, social structure and norms from a bunch of countries dotted across the world.
There was also a bunch of knowledge about floral arrangements, setting a table properly and such. QAQ, My no likey that part okay?
I most likely forgot something.
Actually having to act like staff made me appreciate them a lot more, if they weren't present I would have to do it QAQ
The other people attending the course had a very varied background, like me going into international business and wanting a leg up in getting into University, established businesswomen (C-level), daughters of those who shat on Anna (JK, just thought of the article), people in the service industry.
I was surprised to meet someone I've admired for a long time being there.
I hope that was enough to sate your curiosity
do people who went to IVP know about Anna? what do they think of her?
also, how did you find out about her?
We didn't discuss Anna at IVP, but of those I am in contact with. Lemme just say we find it very entertaining
Like watching someone who can barely walk teach a crawling person how to run.
I found her because of someone else thought I would find her interesting and shared it with me. Not quite the kind of interest they expected...
