I have no proof or source but I read somewhere that they may have already been blacklisted from actual nanny agencies because of their crappy behaviour. Amanda loves to exploit fans though, so maybe they never bothered with qualified (and expensive, less vulnerable, less attractive) nannies. There seems to be a LOT more to come out
Wouldn't surprise me. Actual nannies would not only expect to be paid for their work, they would be unlikely to look at her adoringly and agree with her every word. They might even question how she behaves. She definitely wouldn't want that.

You're right, so it's weird that he demanded to be called Master and obviously wanted submissive women he could degrade. I wonder how the power dynamics worked as a couple, was she less dominant than him in the early days? or did they just prey on people together
I've no proof of this, but my hunch is that she's the worst kind of Cool Girl, and because he likes them young and vulnerbale, she was worried about becoming too old and boring for him. So she'd rather rope in other women to be abused, than risk falling out of favour with him. Then he seems to have left her anyway.

Something i have been thinking about over the last few days. It is possible that he has behaved in an abusive way towards Amanda. That does not excuse her actions at all, but it would make the situation more complicated.

Well if we’re speculating, it wouldn’t surprise me if the strong independent feminist woman had a little submission kink. Many such cases.

I think the twitter screenshot of her saying it is my duty as your wife would suggest so.

I hope these women get some form of justice

I doubt very much that he was abusive towards Amanda. A pathetic excuse for a husband and father, running off to the other side of the globe during lockdown - and putting the people of Skye at risk - but I think he needed her as an accomplice, so the kink was consensual.

Though I would be weak laughing if it turned out Amanda cool girl kinky poly hipster Palmer was actually a vanilla, starfish kind of girl.

So for better or worse, I've stayed as a patreon follower so I can see what she says or doesn't say. This was posted earlier (I've cut out half of it because she rambles on and on but you get the gist

Hi everyone.

I'm here.

If you're only just catching up with me, or you're new here (welcome, and to a handful of you: welcome back), I just want to remind you that I released a statement a few days ago, it's here on Instagram.

There will be a time and a place where I will address the allegations that many of you will have read or heard about, but, for now, I ask that you continue to respect my request -and you've all been amazing, you truly have - for privacy for my son's sake. Thank you. Truly, thank you.

My heart is currently in bleeping pieces.

I am still, in the here and now, a real person. A working artist and a mother.

I've been a touring musician for twenty-five years, and an off-grid crowdfunded artist for fifteen years. This community, this internet-space off and away from "Social Media", this beautiful and wonderful place where I post and release art and write and discuss and listen: this is my workplace.

I know so, so many of you. You all have so many jobs.

Anybody who has gone through pure hell in their personal life and still needs to show up at work hopefully understands. My job as a crowdfunded artist is to make art. For my crowd.

I've been doing this for years through all kinds of weather.

I've received so many messages and missives - emails, texts, DMs, calls - over the last few weeks; I don't know how to keep up. If you have written - anywhere - and I haven't been able to respond, just know that I'm receiving. It's been disorienting. I am trying.

Meanwhile: we've got the internet out there. The clash of the tech titans, my friends and colleagues fleeing Facebook/Instagram/X/Twitter in droves. Trying to re-group, re-gather, re-orient. The Great Where Do We Go. It's chaotic.

For now, the ability to write and publish here directly on the patreon feels, weridly, like a fresh act of resistance even though I've been doing it for ten years without a second thought. Just another place to post, la dee da. But it isn't. It's much more. I know the CEO of the company, I've been here since close to the beginning; I trust the company, I trust the people. I trust the place.

Holy tit, did she really write this? Amanda Palmer is being charged with human trafficking for not paying her nanny, creating essentially the very most hostile work environment by knowing her ex husband ducked other workers, and then kept her trapped on an island with no means.

And she's being litigated but takes time to mention other people's jobs and her job? Her job where she gets paid, unlike the nanny she had? Why would she have any thing public at the moment?

She's really in cult leader territory here. That she has supporters is so bizarre to me.

Her followers in the patreon comments (which I believe are being moderated to remove negative comments) are deeply sycophantic, its very culty. As of posting this, there are 192 comments all in the same vein

AP did a "home concert" performance on her patreon, just her singing at a piano after taking audience requests in the comments. This struck me as extremely tone deaf:

Wonder if its too thin to play, or playing the song which literally mentions Scarlett and Neil's questionable behaviour in the lyrics is a bad idea with the ongoing lawsuit? The lyrics in question:

Another forest metaphor
You've heard a million before
The trees know everything, I tried a wedding ring
But you just cringed and said, "What for?"
And now the whole thing's turned to ash
You try to cover it with cash
Another falling tree no one can hear but me
Another suicidal mass
Landing on my doorstep, thanks a ton

Oh, darling, how can I repay you for what you have done?

And then you lied to me at Whakanewha
And you sealed it with a kiss
I wanted to live with you, but, bleepin'-a, duck you
No one on Earth could live like this

Another clear-cut load of crap
A few more corpses in the sack
You'll get away with it, it's just the same old script
This world is shaped to have your back

You said, "I'm sorry," then you ran
And went and did it all again
I'm such a fool, I know
Street smart but gullible
I see the good in everything
A pound of flax, a pound of steel
I may be dumb, but I can feel
I wonder when you'll realize what you had

A frightened bird, a crystal ball
So sad, you could've had it all
But you hate yourself too much to want all that
I had so much hope for your broken heart
But you've made your choice, and you chose the dark

And so I'll bury you at Whakanewha
And have a party with my friends
I'll miss you terribly, but, bleepin'-a, duck me
It feels so good to love again
And so I'll bury you at Whakanewha
And have a party with my friends
I'll miss you terribly, but, bleepin'-a, duck me
It feels so good to love again

Christ she doesn't half remind me of Jack Monroe, but worse
Oh my god . That’s exactly what I thought when I read it!
Exactly the same as jack but yeah with this disgusting scenario or series of scenarios, much worse 🤯 🤢

Her latest show has had to move venues because of complaints about the lawsuit. I'm on my phone but this is the accompanying patreon post (I don't know whether or not its behind the paywall but posting here anyway)

Hi everyone.

I just gave this statement to the Boston Globe, who called me this morning; if you missed the post last night: our NYC show on May 17th has been officially canceled by National Sawdust and we have been welcomed to move it over to City Winery NYC, where I have always felt very at home. Ticket links are coming.

Here’s the whole Globe Article.

The Boston show on May 10th @ Arts at the Armory is on sale here: https://the-center-for-arts-at-the-armory.ticketleap.com/amanda-palmer/

If you would like to do me a favor, please share my statement posts, I just put it up on

and

Just sharing it will help. Comments are off.

……

I am incredibly, incredibly grateful to the many people who went to the mat for me - and for this community - to try to keep the peace in this insanity and keep the show from getting canceled, including a host of writers and musicians, and a board member at National Sawdust who resigned in protest over their decision to cancel.

My god.

I need to, obviously, keep it pretty brief:

I’m deeply disappointed in National Sawdust, but I’m would not have not very excited to bring a show - and our whole community - to a venue who would not let due process take its course.

My depth of disappointment is matched only by the heights of gratitude I feel to City Winery, who stepped in to make sure we would all feel welcome and safe in their venue. These are truly good people, with a massive amount of integrity.

This has been my life for a while: trenches of shock and disappointment matched within minutes by the soaring compassion, clarity and understanding of the people, venues and journalists around me who truly understand what me and my loved ones are going through.

Thank you all, all, so much - so very very much - for the support you’re all continuously sending in so many ways.

It means more to me than I can say.

There’s so much art to make, so much to be said, so much heavy work to be done.

Please trust time.

I’m here. We will get through this, together. I know we will.

♥

Amanda

What "community" is she talking about here? The herd of the vulnerable she preyed on with her rapey husband?

Also, a board member resigned over it. Sure Jan.
