But you don't understand...

She is the only women to have ever have had a child or raise a child without a partner. It is special and unique and so much worse than how it was for everyone else....

:p

I can remember seeing all her NZ pictures, and then suddenly realising that there must have been someone else taking the pictures.

What is funny, is I am sure that until she had her kid, her and her artsy hipster pals would probably mock anyone who started a sentence with 'speaking as a mother....'.

But now every other story out of her mouth starts with explaining how she was left NZ with a kid.

Yes, I am sure it was hard. But unlike most of her audience, she only had a couple of weeks in lockdown and spent most of the time writing songs, wandering around naked, playing concerts etc.
Yep. Used to love her when I was a teenager (all them many years ago) but recall how much she would rant on about how motherhood and marriage ruined you and how she wasn't going to live that sort of life... I remember thinking how fast that changed when a man (Neil) came on the scene with a bit more status and cash than her 😂

She was vile then, I saw her solo for my 16th birthday. It was just before she got into all the tit for taking performers on tour but not paying them. She sent them into the audience after with hats for people to pay money into on her behalf. I was bleeping 16 years old and one of them was such an hole to me as I had no cash 😂

I saw a recent Facebook page that was basically.... ' the world is going to tit. We need to fight for women's rights. Fight the power. Artists must lead the fight! Join my patreon!'

To be fair, this was out of ' concern' that if her page was deleted she could could not speak freely to fans. But I find it incredibly bad taste to prey on people's fears to make money. She always says you can join at the free level, but most people will upgrade to paid posts as they are missing so much.

It's funny - she has her own forum and is on every existing social media platform. Who wants to find her, finds her.
She is such a grifter!

I have no idea why anyone is a fan of hers since the bull back in 2012 when she was asking for unpaid volunteers as musicians. She's a horrible self-absorbed bleep.

I think there's a Neil Gaiman thread but this link is for those who want to discuss the reprehensible behavior of Amanda Palmer. She brought vulnerable women to her husband who abused them.

It seems they would both duck fans and then use them for free nanny labor. This is a very detailed and hard to read article, with explicit sexual abuse described.

She has been an absolutely self absorbed, narcissistic, vile excuse of a human for a very long time and I hate that finally it has come to light in such a gross way. Those poor women - she is absolutely not the feminist she has claimed to be all along! Everything she does is self serving.

*I'm editing to add on I'm in no way shifting the full blame onto her for his actions, whatsoever, I'm just equally as appalled by her, and really not surprised at all.

Now I see why she was so ambivalent about Russell Brand. She used to participate in abuse. From the article:

" Afterward, Pavlovich crouched down in the water and tried to clean herself off. Gaiman looked at her and smiled. “‘Amanda told me I couldn’t have you,’” Pavlovich recalls him saying. As soon as he’d heard this, he “knew he had to have” her. “‘God,’” he continued, “‘I wish it were the good old days where we could both duck you.’”

She is finished. duck her and her greedy ways and bad music and terrible writing.

Thank you for sharing the article link. It is definitely disturbing to read. I thought this part was interesting--

He and Palmer are entering the fifth year of an weird divorce and custody battle. Gaiman has “bled her dry” in the divorce proceedings, according to someone close to her. She’s moved back in with her parents in Massachusetts. (Gaiman’s representatives alleged that Palmer was a “major force” driving this story in light of their contentious divorce.)
If she was a "major force" in driving this story, why did she decline to speak to police on Scarlett's behalf? It seems Palmer's only public expression over this horror show are song lyrics.

Gaiman has seemingly unlimited financial resources to battle her for custody. Is Amanda staying quiet in hopes of leveraging a win?

Interesting that AP hasn’t locked down her Instagram yet because she’s such a rampant narcissist and also because it’s her main way to grift.

I suspect she's staying quiet because she knows anything she says will be used against her by Gaiman's undoubtedly expensive lawyers. To be honest I can't blame her for this if the custody battle is as bad as hinted in the article. Not that I can see Neil Gaiman wanting full custody...

One of the things which stood out to me about Palmer in the article was where she tells Scarlett she should just go home to her parents, despite having been told about their estrangement. Then later we hear Palmer has moved back in with her own parents. This says to me that whilst she's made a career out of relating to waifs and strays, she's never actually been one, nor does she have any understanding of what life is like without that parental safety net.

I also think she must have known what Gaiman's reaction would be to her telling him not to have sex with Scarlett. If she really cared, it would have been better to warn Scarlett and ensure they were never alone together.

I think the fact he fled to the opposite side of the world away from his son in lockdown very much goes in her favour wrt custody. That's without even needing to legally prove what he subjected his son to as discussed in the article, which, fwiw, I don't doubt for a minute.

Considering how she’s usually got something to say about absolutely everything, she’s terribly quiet.
Some of the comments on her instagram are really upsetting too. You can tell how heartbroken some of her fans are.

You just know she’s already planning her redemption arc. Silence for now, probably wondering if the CPS will investigate based on the nanny’s account that the son was in the room etc. Her grift is so hardcore I wouldn’t be surprised if she has made the decision to not speak out so as not to jeopardise her alimony.
Then as sure as night follows day with Palmer she will play the victim. She will make it all about her because she always does. Wouldn’t put it past her setting up a gofundme for her trauma therapy.
And the sad thing is there will still be enough gullible super fans to forgive her and make sure her grift continues. And Gaiman is so rich that even if he ended up with a serious civil suit to defend - or even criminal case - there’ll always be enough money left.
They are simply terrible people; predatory and empty.

Rereading the start of this thread and the posts about how much he loves his son in light of recent revelations 🤮

I think something is going on on the background, maybe a NDA or some legal procedure that can not be spoken about, and it has been going on for a few years now.

She has never really directly spoken about anything that led to breakdown of marriage and the divorce process, apart from a vague song. So I think it is reasonable to assume she can not, until whatever that is has concluded.

There is always something suspicious with the artsy fartsy, free loving, poly, liberal, therapy speaking crew. They think that they are somehow superior to the conforming hetro married/couples, as they are emotionally enlightened and can bag around without it harming their relationships.

It always ends in tears, because that attitude just can not survive contact with the real world.

I do not think Palmer will have realised what she was doing was wrong, probably thought it was 'sharing the free love'.

The thing i have found the most shocking about all of this, is the massive gulf between the public face of them, and the private behaviour.

If it turns out that the whole thing has been blown up, and the girls did consent.... I still would not trust Gaiman again. His behavior is gross, his taste in sex acts is gross. I can not support anyone who gets off on debasing women like that.

The thing is though that there isn't that much of a gulf between their public and private behaviour. As ever, it was always there in plain sight, their attitude to other people (as facilitators or sources of finance, or social cachet), the way they thought they could bring up their son in unending chaos, the words they both wrote, the characters they imbued their art with.
All of us on these threads see it, and saw it. I was vilified at uni in the 90s for saying his books turned my stomach.
What always surprises me with grifters and predators is how other people can't see it, or why they accept and even celebrate it.

The thing that turned me off him originally, was when he released some sort of fairytale book involving a Princess rescuing a Princess, and acting like it was revolutionary.... when that sort of thing has very much been done before.

He said something when promoting it along the lines of ' I like stories when women save themselves', and it got me thinking about all his stories and how he often wrote adult women as manic pixie dream girls or a jealous nasty witch who had it coming.

I remember being asked "how can you enjoy Angela Carter but not 'get' Neil Gaiman?" 🤢😡 As though it was some kind of intellectual failing on *my* part. Not that I hold 30 year grudges or anything.

Sorry to conflate the threads again. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

He does seem to be very liberal with the NDA's so I'd be shocked if she hadn't got one
