Just in case anyone was wondering what a truly horrible person Amanda Palmer is, here is her blog post about Russell Brand. I'm putting it behind a spoiler with a warning there's a lot of details about assault.

Interesting to re-read this post now. Palmer is very obviously talking about Neil more than Russell Brand.

On a lighter note, after hearing the voice notes played in the podcast, I can not imagine doing anything but shrivelling into a ball of cringe if I had to hear NG do any dirty talk in his very ' I am so British and whimsical voice'.
I've never met Neil Gaiman, but I've enjoyed his writing and think he looks very attractive.

When I heard him reading his own books, I was instantly turned off. He sounds like a person unused to children trying to be whimsical for kiddies.

Whilst I am disgusted with his behaviour Im thrilled he has been exposed purely in the hope they will stop letting him narrate his own books. He ruins them.

The disappointment at Neil's narration is the exact opposite of the heartbreak felt by radio listeners who imagined an attractive crooning voice to belong to a very handsome man, but exactly as funny. Bring on more undignified pins to burst this man's ego!

They did have an open marriage. She was shagging comedian Andrew O’Neill.
I get they had an open marriage, but shagging your kid's nanny 🤮. Even if it had been consensual this would have been wrong and gross.

He's made me have sympathy for AFP which is very annoying.

Yeah, the power dynamic involved in shagging your employee or a fan decades younger than you makes it questionable behaviour. I think a good life rule, and one that's really easy to remember, is not to have sex with anyone younger than your oldest child.

I just read something on Threads where someone was saying apparently Amanda had indicated they closed the marriage when the child they have together was four years old. The nanny event happened when the child was six years old or so.

So. Sounds like Gaiman is an adulterous creep or nagged his way back into open marriage status at some point, likely at that point because of, like most people who demand open marriages, an opportunity veering on the horizon.

Btw, the utter cope I am seeing from a minority of leftist-veering fans is utterly insane. They're trying to paint what would be a project that has taken months and months if not years of research and locking down and checking facts legally to prevent them from being taken to court for libel, into a lashback for bloody David Tennant falling out with Kemi Whatsherface a couple of weeks ago.

Fans, eh. Sorry, a dude being a creep is not an uncommon occurrence. Especially a famous man who positions himself to attract young female fans. An no professional media will touch these kind of accusations until they are very much inspected at a granular level by lawyers and fact checkers. Because nobody wants to be fined millions by a court the very rich person they slagged off dragged them into.

And yes, libel. Gaiman hasn't remotely indicated he's going to take legal action over that podcast and if it were untrue, he almost certainly would use his huge fortune to smash down the journalists and media organ that published that piece.

I am also pretty sick of the contingent that pious promotes 'believes women' and until their pet famous feminist-posturing dude gets caught raping someone.

And for those who don't have kids? 😂

I mean, the rule should be if they're in your employ, you are in loco parentis in any way, and if you don't wish to be known as a sad old shagger, don't persistently pursue people way, way younger than you, sexually. Don't make it your pattern of behaviour. Nobody really looks kindly upon it, apart from a subset of very gross men. Generally men who do this are very, very immature anyway and know women older see right through them.

Sorry if it was unclear, I was referring specifically to Gaiman - he has three adult children. I completely agree that older predatory men are quite transparent in their nature - except of course to the person they are giving all their admiration and attention.

I absolutely agree with everything you have to say.

I consider myself to be left leaning, but I have lost all faith in a lot of the left online. It is full of people not thinking for themselves and simply trotting out the same old ' memes' they have seen other people repeat.

In this case, they looked at the article, decided it was connecting to a 'bad person' and dismissed it all out right.

As I have said on the general celebrity thread, regardless of it was or wasn't criminal, if I saw a friend being treated like that by a partner I would be begging her to break it off.

3 more women have came forward to talk about Gaiman. 2 have spoken to Tortoise and 1 to another podcast.

Looks like this woman has receipts.

"When Gaiman left the Woodstock property during the Covid pandemic, Wallner said she felt “so, so relieved”. But then Gaiman began sending her sexually explicit photos and videos of himself, asking her to send him ones of herself. After Wallner stopped answering Gaiman’s sexual video calls, in June 2021, she said his business manager told her to vacate the property by December that year."

It's very teenage. Someone in the comments asked her to spill the beans, and another commenter told them they were being disrespectful 😂 come off it, it's fair to assume she's doing this for attention IMHO!

I mean… I guess that’s one way to rehabilitate his image
Also disrespectful 🤣 she’d be fuming if no one did ask what was going on

Are we sure that his him? Never seen Gaiman in anything other than black t-shirt and leather jacket combo?

If that is him, she is a fool. He crushed her sprit, ducked her employees and tried to make her look crazy.

In 10 years he will be trying it on with his sons school friends.

She's been a balls-out grifter since that appalling 'Art of Asking' book (or whatever it was called). Then having a Patreon and acting La Starving Artiste despite being married to a bleeping millionaire. She's an example of making a very little talent go a very long way with an immense amount of self belief and confidence, tbqh. She cannot sing and in the end, became little more than a wandering noisy cult of personality with the aforementioned dodgy self-help type book. Spare me the tales of lift hitching and fan floor sleeping when your husband is minted and now so are you.

As for quirky second wife, the moment Gaiman got with her I thought, haha, you found yourself a 15 years younger Poundland Tori Amos since the original you liked so much wasn't free. He's looked like a bleeping bag lady midlife crisis wanker ever since he's been with her. Clearly has a boner for eccentric artist women anyway.

Apparently they both slept around as part of their open relationship then had the combined balls to get butthurt about each other or whatever. Pretty immature for a pair of middle aged and above people. He's 60 now and has probably given up and decided to stick around for the kid. Typical older divorced dude with much younger wife and very young child. The classic 'do over family' because you ducked up with the first one. At least Scientology isn't involved this time. Maybe.

I find Gaiman's 'nice' image increasingly likely to be a typical smokescreen for not being quite as nice as you'd want. I always wondered if like Palmer, he shagged fans. Note most of Neil's uberfans are women on the younger side. With a dose of the kind of quirky he obviously finds attractive.

Hahaha. Yes, I am quite proud of it. 😂

Also see: the joy of being proved right, and the pain of being proved right. For once, I'd like to be wrong about dudes doing standard issue gross dude things as soon as life, fame and opportunity allows it. Haven't yet been, though.
