Seriously though, I am a big fan of old school heavy mental, I have several Black Sabbath albums. I also like White Snake, Deep Purple (not necessarily a heavy metal band) Rainbow, Saxon a little Iron Maiden ect. When I was in my teens, I went through a phase of dressing like a "greaser," leather jackets and graffited denim waistcoat and jeans I have a photo to prove it! I don't do any headbanging anymore though!

ooh Rammstein gossip! Have you all seen Till's porn video(s)? It is...interesting.

I've been a massive Rammstein fan since Mütter, but first saw them live in 2010 when I was pregnant, then again last year in Bern. Heading to Berlin to see them this year.
Saw Slipknot last week as well, not a huge fan, but had a brilliant time.

I really want to see Rammstein again but it’ll have to wait until my daughter is a bit older!
I was so glad to have membership for LIFAD; got my tickets in the presales. I'm in the pit for Belfast, and Feuerzone for Berlin. Have you even seen Rammstein live if you still have your eyebrows at the end of the show? :ROFLMAO:

Does anyone remember the Metal Sludge forum The Ho Board? Oh the gossip that was on there!
It's still there but not as active. I'm still a member!

I was more into the 80's bands than the newer ones, do like a few new ones but still prefer old stuff.

I have remembered that the best way to make your kids clear off is to blast Metallica's 'Master Of Puppets' full volume.

Rammstein have postponed their US shows again, but I still haven't heard anything about the status of the European tour in June. I'm meant to be going to shows in Berlin and Belfast. I have a feeling they'll be pushed back until next year.

Great thread!! Was not aware of that stuff with Brand New... Still love them. Sowing season is my fave.
Anyone for system of a down?

Trying to introduce our 3 year old into good music and she's really loving The Subways if anyone can remember them - more rock though.

Thank you @NineTails20 for redirecting us here!

It's so sad reading the posts about the gigs you planned and looked forward to knowing what was gonna happen :( hopefully soon we'll be able to enjoy our favorite bands live without worrying about contracting a deadly virus!!

To revive the thread and start the convo - what is your favorite rock/metal trivia?
Axl Rose and Adriana Smith getting it on and recording it for 'Rocket Queen' on Appetite For Destruction. Some say she was seeing Steven Adler, others say she was seeing Slash.

Yassssssss me too would love to know what actually happened. Heard on the grape vine it had something to do with guy le tattooer but might be rubbish
from what I understand/have read... Oli was always going behind her back anyway but because she was quite young and seemingly doing everything to keep appearances - when she was getting her body suit done by Guy le Tattooer he showed her something she wasn’t getting at home and they ended up sleeping together which resulted in being a full relationship behind Oli’s back and then Hannah moved to live with him in France following the separation. However, Guy is also known for just sleeping with everybody, especially female clients which is why he seems to have various very besotted clients who are doing full body suits. When he and Hannah were seemingly ‘together’ a few of them stopped and the girls had posted online that their ‘journey had come to an end’, it was bizarre - almost cult like. I do feel for Hannah but she did cheat on her boyfriend to get with Oli so it’s just a messy, vicious cycle.

Please, I beg you, go check out Foo Fighters on Jo Wiley's 'Sofa Sessions'. They've done a cover of the Bee Gees 'You Should Be Dancing' and it's wonderful!

Would you class music from bands such as Epica, Nightwish and Within temptation pop? My husband and argue all the time about this and it makes me angry as I do see it as metal. Ok, female-fronted metal - but still metal. What do you think?

My favourite band in the world is Avenged Sevenfold. Only seen them once , but that was at the 100 club so super intimate. Anyone else a fan?
Ahhhh A7X are amazing.
Love them.
I got into them pretty late but prefer their older stuff anyway.

I’ve seen them a couple of times and actually quite liked them. But that might have been because I was heavily fantasising about M Shadows for a good year or two.

TBH, I knew I'd turned into an elder stateswoman of metal fandom when I went to see Slayer and went 'NO FUCKING WAY' when asked if I was going to go into the pit. :ROFLMAO:
Hahaha I like to stand by the pit but not in the pit. I still feel cool but I know I won't be wearing my beer 😆

🙋‍♀️ their music is the perfect blend of goth, doom and thrash metal. (Imo) no other band has come even close to figuring out the T0N sound without sounding cheesy or copycat-ish. Wish we had their 90s gigs in 4k.
That being said, they were (are?) huge edgelords, especially Peter. Now that I'm older whenever I watch their interviews it makes me roll my eyes into the hell and back lol. However, there is no denying that Peter is a rather fine specimen of a man... Are you one of the lucky ones that saw them live?

Btw am I reaching or does Henry Cavil resemble Peter a bit? They have similar features, bar the nose
The thing with TON is that they took sarcasm to a whole new level. Everything in their interviews should be taken with a large pinch of salt.

And yes, I did get to see them live! They only ever played one Irish show, back in '97, and they were majestic. Stuck Mojo played support. Years later, I met SM's guitarist, Rich Ward. He's now in Chris Jericho's band, Fozzy. I mentioned that I'd seen him as support on that show, and we ended up talking about Peter and how much we missed him. Also met Johnny Kelly and Sal Abruscato when A Pale Horse Named Death played Dublin. Got my copies of Bloody Kisses and October Rust signed.
