black people in the UK only make up 3% of the population ... why are you shocked there is not black person in his less than 100-person team?
it wouldn't be fair if ali hired a black person just for diversity, not bc they were any good

Renting the London apartment does make some kind of business sense. He is going all in on making a big podcast with big guests and its easier to get people to pop over for a podcast episode in London than making the 1-2 hour travel to Cambridge. And if you want to try living in London anyway that's fair enough

The mistake was the London office which was pointless and a waste of time.
Though I should think in london there are plenty of podcast recording spaces for hire that they could use. He could have also made use of co-working spaces for London-based staff meetings etc.

Jesus Christ, what a load of absolute crap.

This is the most outrageously offensive load of rubbish I have seen written on Tattle and that's really saying something. Leaving the criticisms of Ali aside because I think he does say and do some very offensive and awful things himself, you are demonstrating a complete lack of empathy or understanding of what ASD is. I think the fact you are just assuming he has ASD is harmful in itself and based on stereotypes, as we don;t know that he does or doesn't, and therefore launching criticism at him based on this, and by extension at all people with ASD, you are being ridiculous.

ASD is not something that can be 'fixed' with therapy and it's harmful to suggest that. People with ASD, as previously mentioned, may struggle with social skills or empathy, and I'm sorry that you had an experience with a friend where you felt they showed this towards you. ASD is the explanation for these behaviours often, but not an excuse - therefore people with ASD, like everyone else, have to recognise that saying certain things might offend and have to deal with the consequences to their relationships of doing that. No one is suggesting that people on the spectrum should just be allowed to do / say what they want, but we have to recognise their brains work differently and we have to try and mesh with them, as well as them meshing with us.

I am glad therapy worked for you and your issues but the way you seem to think those it doesn't work for, who then ask for acceptance and support, should be treated is showing that YOU have a complete lack of empathy. Therapy won't change how people with ASD see the world, though it might help them understand themselves better, and to think that we need to eradicate ASD and the world would be better without those with it in it is just garbage.
I am sorry, but this is ridiculous. Saying “the truth” about Ali, is lack of empathy? The guy made email for his wife, says 10% to be dedicated to dating, left medicine in the middle of pandemic and you say I am not having empathy towards him

clearly xD

For the love of god…. Educate yourself on ASD. Learn about the double empathy problem. You’re being incredibly hateful and judgemental whilst making it clear you don’t get it. At all.
This is what was said earlier - current generations have huge problem that society doesn’t have to embrace their mental limitations.
If you are blind you need to adjust yourself to be able to function in the society. If you are in the spectrum you need to understand that you may HURT people and clearly is not understanding that at all.

but hey, it’s ok to to be ASD, to have no compassion, no empathy, to say “the hardest truth” because you were born this way and you can’t change it right?

And when someone calls this out he/she is hateful xD

But Ali can like redpill stuff and it’s ok xD

so I may not “embrace” his spectrum

Ali's second channel popped up on my feed. I didn't watch the whole video but he definitely looks freer than he does on his main channel.

Who on Earth is paying for that trash website

It's literally just content from his Youtube channel spliy up into an easy to manage "course" what a joke

I think the worst things he's done is:
- Follow some dodgy redpill people on Twitter
- Scummy FOMO tactics on his YouTube course
- The buying the Tesla at half price video
- Decided to move to America to be a Doctor there (which he quickly went back on)
Redpill people is definitely the worst for me, followed by YouTube course (But people are going to spend money on stuff like that anyways so I'm a bit meh over it). Buying the tesla at half price I found fairly interesting and I liked that he gave a balanced review on it. Moving to America to be a doctor I think was more for the adventure of it rather than thinking that the healthcare system is in anyway better than the NHS. I know some people think that doctors trained here have an obligation to the NHS but in my opinion it's his career, so his choice.
I think he's not followed covid guidelines once or twice as well but not broken any explicit rules, and he is vaccinated so idk.

IDK about any recent live stream with them but this reminded me that Ali appeared on Sheen's podcast months back (when i used to follow him). Sheen's podcast focusses on women empowerment and topics related to that (never listened to it either so IDK how it is) but I remember her posting the thumbnail on her Instagram and most of the comments stated that Ali was quite ignorant about this aspect and he should also educate himself on the matter. I still do not wanna judge based on the comments but when majority of the comments were about this, I agree wholeheartedly. learning about productivity and stoicism is fine but there are other serious matters in the world he should also focus on. instead of reading 100 books about productivity (which spews the same facts over and over again in different ways), he should also read about other stuff like feminism, lgbtq, race, etc.
I mean he's read quite a lot about race as far as I am aware and admits to coming from a place where he wasn't particularly educated about it and his privilege in being a straight male. Most of the negative comments on his video about learning about race were some of his followers complaining about his definition of racism including a power dynamic and stuff. I really don't think he's massively sexist or anything in the way people on this thread are making him out to be. I don't think Sheen or Molly would be friends with someone sexist and that most of the comments people pick him up on as 'incel terminology' are said self deprecatingly. To me something like 'increase my sexual marketplace value' is obviously self deprecation. In terms of dating I think he's just trying to navigate largely unfamiliar territory and so is trying to be efficient and thorough about it. The whole 'go with the flow' thing and let a relationship just happen is a nice idea but, particularly during a pandemic, isn't really going to happen so he's making an effort.

Off topic of Ali but KharmaMedic did a Notability sponsored video with no "ad" in the thumbnail right on the day that Notability started forcing users to pay a subscription fee even when they had paid for the app before in full. They got absolutely destroyed by users in the App Store for it. Big L for my personal opinion of him after this.
Dunno who you've seen use #AD in a thumbnail but that basically guarantees you won't get any views. The FTC requires youtubers to disclose in the description, in the actual video and via the "Includes sponsored product" option in the upload dashboard.

Literally you mentioned the harmful money/productivity idea - he shouldn't be outsourcing work to poorly paid people in Asia and selling it as some kind of genius idea like he does in his videos - it's unethical and exploitative.
by that logic, you should never buy fast fashion, iphones or most of your consumables ever again bc these things are made by underpaid and exploited labourers from China/Bangladesh
Unless all your clothes are fairtrade/ethically made, all your electronics are ethically made etc. aren't you a hypocrite for slamming Ali

Ngl when she first moved in I just assumed he had taken his mum’s offer up of finding someone….. because he’s mentioned it before so maybe it was some kind of trial/get to know you phase

Could someone start a thread on Ali Abdaal in Influencers?

I can't make one and I'd be interested in seeing what others make of him.

His channel:

Thanks!
