Alex has posted a new q&a video where she opens up about her (traumatic) upbringing and childhood. Bless her, I feel terrible for her! Considering what she’s been through she’s come out of the other side which is pretty admirable in all honesty.
would you be able to summarise it please if you’re happy to? haven’t got the time to watch at the minute but interested from what you’ve said!

Certainly! I can’t quite remember the question but it was something along the lines of can she explain her family background.
She said she doesn’t have a relationship at all with her mum (and I think her mum’s side in general) bar her sister as she grew up with one particular step father (there were a few) who was very violent towards her and her mother (Alex’s sister was sheltered from this a bit, she did mention her brother but not if she still has a relationship with him) and in the end her mother chose the step father over Alex (and her sister). He was also an alcoholic. She’s had years of therapy in response to this but she couldn’t really say too much more or go into more detail (she only mentioned one altercation in more detail) so I feel it was pretty horrific.
She also doesn’t have a relationship with her biological dad anymore because he was just a rubbish dad who picked and chose when he wanted to be in her life. He tried to reconnect with her when she was 21 years old but Alex wasn’t having any of it and it’s been no contact since.

thank you for this!

that’s so awful.. must be difficult/bittersweet for her getting engaged too as most influencers want the big extravagant weddings with a load of family there, I can’t imagine how it would feel knowing your mum isn’t there to see your dress and your dad isn’t there to walk you down the aisle.

just goes to show you don’t know what goes on in peoples’ lives I suppose, as I never would’ve expected that from her

So it’s public knowledge who the dressage judges are because it’s listed on the results for the rider who the judge was.

If it is who I think it is I’ve also been judged by the same judge and on what was a mega international horse she scored him lower than he normally scored .

It’s a shame Alex didn’t put what was said. I hope Alex takes every action possible against the judge who said things to her. I reckon they were jealous of Alex’s appearance. At the end of the day, check into the results of most British dressage judges and they mostly haven’t competed much themselves and certainly most haven’t done adv med which Alex’s horse has had a couple of outings at .

The whole judge thing is a joke . I don’t and won’t compete anymore …

I watch Alex intermittently. What’s happened with her big house move? . I see she competed in Leicestershire hence she hasn’t moved yet ?

she said that they’ll be moving just at some point in life basically, and that they’re still going to be doing bits/spending money on the current house etc, so i don’t think it’s in the imminent future. she also said they may keep the current house as well as buying a new house down south which is an interesting glimpse into their finances

I watched last nights vlog of her at chloe/josie event. She was very upset because a BD judge had said some nasty things to her after the show.

I think I know who the judge is and although I haven’t had nasty comments , I have had what I’d say were overly critical comments on the sheet and lower scores than I expected . The judge if it is the one I believe it is, is hard to please.

I strongly suspect jealousy as to Alex’s figure and face. I saw a score of Alex’s and yes it is low but they are brand new to each other and it takes 1-2 yrs to get the best out of a new horse . Alex has a nice enough horse who has competed a little at a higher level than what Alex is taking it out at hence overall the scores will definitely improve with time . It is 100% wrong and appalling for any bd judge to be making verbal negative comments . Their job is to score what they see and if it is a low score they have to provide a comment as to why on the form. Their job is written not verbal. I’m 100% team Alex here .

i don’t get why she called her dogs desi and bolly btw? unless she adopted and they were already called that? not been watching her long enough to know, just find it weird a white person calling their dog a name for south asian people 🤣

She has said in a video before that Bolly comes from their favourite champagne - Bollinger.

I'm sure she has probably explained where Desi comes from aswell but aswell as Asian, Desi is also a Spanish name. I think it could be used as a shortened version of Desmond or Desiree aswell. So I suppose she now has permission to use it? 😂 😂

ahh right interesting, i assumed it was desi (ie south asian person) and bolly being Bollywood based off that, but as I say I always thought that was odd hahaha

The latest horse seems purely to make her money, right? I don’t know how much horses sell for but she must be loaded to own three, two of which she’s recently bought? Maybe she’s making tons from influencing 🥴

Eventing isn’t my bag but dressage is. I’m guessing she’s going to bring the new one on to event ?.

in terms of what do they sell for it depends on the level they reach /scores. Ie a top Grand Prix rider might buy a very young horse for 30k with excellent breeding and after 8 yrs that horse should be very high level and sell for 80-130k if it can get to inter 2/Grand Prix with nice scores.

I don’t know values with eventing but it is lower and of course she’s not a high level rider. Riding and training are two different things . In short it’s very hard for someone like Alex who doesn’t have the horses at home to make money on a horse. It’s bonkers.

she is risking her money and time doing this . It could break a leg In the field or similar accident then she’s lost the lot . Unless you have them at home and know what you are doing they aren’t much of a money maker . Also isn’t this the first horse she has attempted to train?

I like Alex but 3 horses is a lot to keep in work for someone who isn’t a pro rider

She needs her own yard really. Either stabling at home or find a barn to rent and do it that way.

looking at what but I’ve seen of her house it looks like an inexpensive newbuild. Hence I would imagine she won’t be able to fund her own house with land .

does anyone have any more info on her move to marlow area? I’m convinced this is purely to upgrade her lifestyle by befriending Leo smee

Wonder how long their friendship will last. A very surface friendship indeed, both using one another for their own personal gain. How admirable. <sarc>

Haven’t really watched her since before Christmas but I’m really surprised she’s got a third horse. Especially because when she bought the black one, she made a big thing about saying she keeps horses for life and she’s keeping Flicka etc. To commit to three young horses for life is like a million pound commitment. Maybe even more.

Good for her. Makes her much more interesting than other vapid influencers whose only hobby is spending money.

I wondered if Flicka actually has graver problems and might be on rest for a long time so she needs another who will jump?

I wondered the same…… I also wondered if Leo has a spare stable or two with a field at hers…. I believe Leo’s place used to have the land but the deeds seem split now hence I believe the land at Leo’s (the fields are rented off the farmer who retained ownership ) . I believe Leo’s parents own the house garden and orchard
