Does anyone have any stories or gossip about the New Primrose Hill Gang? It consists of Alexa Chung, Nick Grimshaw, Harry Styles, Cara Delevinge, Daisy Lowe and more. They were known for going to parties and clubs a lot in London in 2012/2013/2014.

Apparently the cigarettes are fake. Why though? It still looks absolutely disgusting, but I guess none of these size 00s were planning on eating it anyway. So much narcissism and lack of self-awareness.

I used to work in social for a brand and Alexa was doing an event for us. She was chatting to someone before the event started and I was nudged to go and speak to her to ask if we could get some pics for our social channels.

I really didn’t want to interrupt, but I suppose in that job you sort of have to, but it was SO AWKS and she was pretty rude and basically just told me to go away which in a way, fair enough, but also….come on, I’m a 25 year old social media exec working for the brand that is paying you, could you maybe see that I want the ground to swallow me up right now and just be nice?

I'm really sorry she did that to you, and it's inexcusable given she was there to do a job.

Maybe it's time to move this thread out of the Rave section.

Yes, "pick me girl" is a good way to put it. I read an interview with her somewhere where she talked about how her first boyfriend (who was much older than her. Enough to know better...ew) really introduced her to a lot of music, so she could say things to subsequent beaus like "Oh, you've never heard of X-Ray Spex?" Also, she said that instead of people saying "You look great today", she much prefers it when they say "Oh, you sound clever today, Alexa." I mean, yes, not everything is about physical appearance, and I do think her intelligence set her apart from the rest of the skinny and pretty fashion crowd, but she wouldn't be where she is today if she wasn't also skinny and pretty.

I remember those quotes! Even as a 15 year old i thought she sounded pretentious Plus only pretty people who know they’re pretty would say that!

Alexa's looking pretty aimless right now. Flitting from one thing to another is cute in your 20s and early 30s, but she's nearing 40 and it's still hard to describe what exactly she does (especially now that her clothing line has ended). She doesn't have the same cache as she used to, either. I am definitely not saying she needs to be married with kids at this point to be happy in life, I'm sure she's actually quite happy, but I hear what you all are saying in that it's a little sad that she doesn't appear to have changed since 2010.

Yes and it's annoying. I was going to get this month's Elle Magazine 40th Anniversary issue with her on the cover but the interview put me off. She's obviously gone back to modelling for work, but once again it's the usual "ugh, modelling, not interested, I want to do other stuff" yawnfest.

I remembered this thread after watching her in Lisa Eldridge's makeup video. Still very beautiful and seems to be leaving her face mostly alone as she ages, but comes across as having never shown any life growth or self-reflection?

They make a joke about her never growing up ... But I'm like, okay, har-de-har, it's fine to be childlike in your 40s but not immature? Kinda coming across like a knob, to be honest.

I saw she had done another video with Lisa Eldridge. I was curious yet also dreading watching it. She's also releasing another collection for Madewell, which will likely be just as poorly made and reviewed as the last one. I get the same sense you do that she's a Peter Pan who's always a multi-hyphenate, never an expert at anything. She writes here and there, dabbles in photography, did a few TV gigs, and "designs" clothes sometimes, but nothing ever really seems to stick. She's desperately clinging to relevancy by doing all these weird little vanity projects, but I think brands partner with her not because she's particularly good at anything, but because she's thin and pretty and coasting on her It girl reputation.

I found this video a little cringy to watch (usually these "What's in my bag" videos are). I feel like Alexa has done a few of them over the years and is just rinsing and repeating to try to remain relevant. Also, her hair dangling on the sides of her face bugged me the whole time!

Probably said this before but I liked her YT channel. With hindsight I presume it was mainly to advertise her clothing brand. Now the clothing line has gone she doesn't bother with it.

I don’t believe for a second that she never dabbled in substances, though she probably doesn’t anymore. With her lifestyle and friend group (and weight loss) at the height of her popularity, it seems inevitable that she would, but she must’ve been more discreet about it than other, bigger celebrities. Does anyone else remember gossip sites from the aughts that were full of paparazzi photos of celebs passed out at parties and whatnot? What a wild time.

Isn't she? As I said I thought I wouldn't like her YT for some reason (not sure why) but I just love her. I love the way she is confident and funny but never falsely and tediously modest and never cocky.

Not to mention how excellently she wears an outfit.
Sometimes I feel liking Alexa and her style is so cliche and millennial, then I tell myself to be honest, get over myself and accept how brilliant she is. Her YouTube channel has been an excellent move. The video about how to have an angry french relationship is possibly my favourite thus far.

I can't help but like Alexa - she's funny and self-depreciating and I like that. No idea why she speaks with such a posh accent though - her siblings certainly don't.

Maybe from years of dating her upper crust ex-boyfriend? I'm not British, so I can't really detect a difference; I do think she was purposely putting on a "fancy" demeanor at the beginning of the video. I get this love/hate feeling with Alexa in videos, where sometimes it seems as if she's trying to prove that she's the wittiest person in the room. But then she'll say something where I'm like "Okay, maybe not, you're cool again."
